I watched the flame burn today
The flame that you helped to ignite
Before dusk, it will burn out
With no more story to write

Distance taxed what we had
Fruits and aroma of our cursed dance
Surrounded me for so long
Now awakened from an impossible trance

The final flicker moments away
The darkness leaves me in doubt
I’m left to wonder what’s to come
When the flame burns out
