While you were sleeping…

I was up early,
very early;
Thinking of you
as I do so often these days.
I tried your mail:
Offline, it read,
of course!
So, I re-read some of your stories
and held myself.

I studied your pictures;
those grainy glimpses of you that you send me.
Is that a mole just below your panty line?
Soon I gave up.
You're so far away
…and yet, lately, you're always here.
