nights taking endless polaroids
of my face tin-canned while my lover
wedded his second wife. the refrigerator in
our first house somehow did not
get emptied before our vacancy.
eggs and meat, cheese fuzzed and green
with the passage of time as if the
psyche decides to play tricks by
forgetting things that become climactic-
for the sake of combatting monotony.
