LEMONIA / (F)LIP EDELTRAUD => TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT

CAFÉ BOCCA
SUNDAY EVENING
19/1/2014

WHY MAKE A FUSS?

I call you and I find you on the road,
It is your daddy's birthday today,
We're talking as I'm trying to unload,
My feelings in the sea of AVRA BAY.

You're driving to your dad's to celebrate,
You still have not received my Christmas parcel,
My memories I'm trying to update,
The button blinks telling me to press "cancel".

I tell you where I am, you seem interested,
I am in Avra Beach and I feel bored,
To you one place that you were molested,
To me one place that you were adored.

Reality, a matter of perception,
That people like me still get surprised,
Reality without contraception,
You may think that you were ill advised.

It's getting dusk, the colours keep on changing,
I don’t suppose you saw what I've seen,
To be engaged you need to be engaging,
And get some virtue out of every sin.

Morality, a ghost so volatile,
So tailored to one's social class,
It breaks its own rules for just a while,
And when it's caught it makes its own fuss.

Good evening, Edeltraud, enjoy the party,
I might have been wrong about you,
You are so cool, the way you were so hearty,
But I was never wrong about this blue.

It's getting dusk, the colours keep on changing,
I might have been wrong about us,
To be engaged you have to be engaging,
And since we were, how could I make a fuss?
