~Wings of the Night~

As I look around and see you,
I see your smiling face.
But you don’t seem to see me,
Because I am just a trace.
A trace of a memory, still lingering behind.
A spirit on the wind, soaring through time.

Though my eyes will see you always;
And I will protect you from afar,
I must relent and let you go -
Another life to find.

And soon when your life is over,
Mine eyes will yours behold.
I’ll greet you with out stretched wings,
And welcome you to the fold.

Till then, my love, continue,
To live when I could not.
My love for you be spoken,
On the wings and whispers of the night.
