WINGS SPREAD WIDE OPEN

i carry a newspaper
under my arm,
and like usual the witch hunt
is about throwing an
american in jail.
however, i can't reveal my source,
unless of course,
you have a sense of humour.
it takes that
when sitting in a cell.
maybe, it would help
to find a comedian - like mort sahl.
a new administration
would really help the cause.
this one is to damn run down.
it's been picked apart
so many times - it's become predictable.
now paris hilton -
now we get something
that has real video content.
it's moving... exciting -
represents humour as it should.
so, my dick is thinking - oil refineries.
it's a big deal!!
snicker if you must -
a good laugh would be better.
a loyal opposition is a great
trade secret from the real left!!

Mort who? heh,heh

Damn you dcpoet, you just get better and better, this is a strange triagle, poetry, comedy and social commentary - you do it well. A rich field, you can piss three different sets of people off at once.

I know of Mort Sahl....

and I like the fascinating imagery of this poem...sarcasm at its best.
