To wish is but to voice
A dream come to light
From the fog of sleep
To be given a chance

A wish is a prayer
A want, a need
A caged thought
Desires to be released

Wishes are for lovers
Creating barriers of their own
A simple thought
Among the darkness of hope

A fool dreams of wishes
Of that unreachable star
Can reach but never touch
Slowly eroding the mind

To say I wish
To give voice to your heart
Sets in motion thoughts
Which should remain a dream
