(c) Paul Bill Garland, 2010

That ache / pain imperious,
Promises of bliss,
bonfire wood / instincts flare,
ignited with a kiss.

Release it / unleash me;
the animal in the dark,
let its teeth / rend and tear,
It wants to eat your heart.

Lose control / a fear in me,
Evil, sweet violence,
Is the dog walking me?
Punctuated silence.

Your skin soft / longs to bleed,
In you now, the pain and ache,
Wet hair tangled / my fist,
And beneath me you break.

Woman mine / below me,
Sharing this heaven / pain,
Connected as I kill my want,
The serpent within / slain.

The afterward / moist against me,
Your breath slow, monsters departed,
This moment only / you can be mine,
Scorched into memory / broken hearted.
