I have always wondered
what it must be like to touch your face.
Is it smooth and soft
or covered in a beard?

I have always wondered
about your hands
are they big and do they mold the Earth
like your heart?

I have always wondered
about you.
Who are you?
The dark form in my canvass
that looks out at the sea.
The man on mountain tops
fighting against all odds.
The sailor sailing home
after a long voyage.

You dive into the ocean
to see the shoals in the currents.
You surface
only with the playful dolphins.

Like the sea gulls
do you soar into the blue sky?
Like shooting stars
vanish into the dark sky?

If so,
then why?

I have always imagined your face
how it might look in the light
and under the glistening stars
as the world merges with infinity.

I have always imagined your thoughts
as we walk together on sandy beaches
contemplating sunsets
and flight of birds, tourists and fish-n-chips.

I have always wondered when you drive
where you drive to.
To me or to someone else.
And why this should matter to me.

I have always wondered
if you are coming or going
ebbing or flowing
if like the wind you change.

But, mostly I wonder
why I wonder about you.
Who are you, anyway?

An enjoyable poem

Quite an enjoyable poem. The repetition works well in the poem and I enjoyed the images that you painted in the poem.

Well done!
