WORDS of a DEAD MAN’S PRAYER
By
AC

I am a ghost with no past.
 a gambler with no chance,
Just waiting on my turn to see the fat lady dance.
Why?
It’s not because I’m drunk or I’m high,
But sometimes I don’t give a damn whether I live or I die.
However, I
Still try to get a piece of the pie.
Even though it’s the whole thing that I’m trying to buy.
Father Time is getting closer,
So the further I run.
Knowing that one day he’s going to catch up with me,
And then I’ll be done.
I’m trying to catch up with Mother Nature,
So I can kidnap her son.
I mean “the sun”;
Yeah homy, that’s the one.
To put some light up in my world
And keep it constantly shining.
To guide my way through the darkness
till it’s the exit I’m finding.
To add more worth to my life
Than money, friends, and diamonds.
till I come face to face with death,
And I’m no longer behind him.
Now that I’ve reached my final destination
I wonder what’s over there.
These are the words of a dead man’s prayer.
