The wine is gone, still mortals are we,
Death has come my soul not free.
My heart is ash and blown away,
I yearn for dawn, the light of day.
I lost the one who walked with me.

But yet again the bells toll three.

To make you smile I wish to see,
Again at your side I wish to be.
To consider your thoughts she did not bother,
My blood was mixed, I became a father.
A new path chose my life to be,

For yet again the bells toll three.

I come to you, to comfort thee,
Your forgiveness of pain was not to be.
My old life, is never again,
My new life does now begin.
Never to trade my life I see.

For yet again the bells toll three.
