You Are A Memory

bytheoncomingstorm©

You are just a memory
That I carry with me
A figment of my mind
Set in bars of iron in captivity
You are but a mere dream
That I escape to every night
Always hearing your voice
But your face never graces my sight
You are a glimmer of light
In the darkness so bleak
A hero who comes to the rescue
When I am in trouble too deep
You are a whisper
Of a far away song
A ray of hope
That has been gone for too long
You are my fairy tale
Always a step from reality
But no matter how much I wish
You remain just a memory
