My days have been dark and sad
Having some of the worst I have ever had
Getting kicked around like a dented tin can
Looking for happiness from a special man

I had a guy who I thought was great
Unknown to me he already had a mate
Gave him my soul and gave him my heart
Thought he was the one and we'd never part

Going from partner to partner was such a bore
Others looking at me like I was the town whore
Never do I ask for much from anyone, not at all
I don't need to go to somewhere fancy; I'll go to a mall

There he stood and my jaw just dropped
My heart was pounding and even stopped
You looked at me and I at you
Knowing that this what I wanted too

Your smile is real and your words so kind
You always seem to know what's on my mind
Treating me like some kind of queen
Never are you degrading, cross or mean

Because of you I am never alone
No longer having to for a ring on the phone
Walking with my head high, knowing I have Mr. Right
Yes it's you and only you as you are my light
