When I remember cherished memories
My recollection the film on an old dog's eyes
Could it be my tongue's an orphan
And my family is the prize
Memories of our youth survive
The years have passed with but a breath
Her smile and laugh did win my heart
Together we'll be until that death
With a tender touch my soul she stirs
With a kiss she calms my fears
Thankful am I that I am hers
So loved am I brings me to tears
Why should I be so blessed
When pain the world endures
Did God intend for us to meet
Our destiny secured
I believe our hearts are one
Our hopes and dreams begotten
So beautiful is she to me
Her love as soft as cotton
