There was a time when I was lonely
Sad and hated my life
Until the day I met you
Gave me a reason to carry on
I had no one to call my own
Everyone seemed to have someone
Having a lot to give and no one to give it to
Put me in a state of depression far beyond any help
When I saw your smiling face at the pub that night
I was tickled by your huge smile
Dimples in both your cheeks
That wink of your eye that called me over
We shared some laughs and stories
You listened to me with both ears open
A date for the future is what we made
Your hand you gave me and then you gave me your heart
I began to feel alive again
