every night
as i lie on my back
in the darkness
of my room
i hear my favorite sound.
your voice
singing or talking
telling me
whatever i want to hear.
soothing away my fears
laughing at my simpleness
sweet-talking to my blushes
caressing my ears
with words so simple
that make me
float through the air.
your voice
the only part of you
that i can have with me
every day
and every night
before i shut my eyes.
