the sun pours through the window
illuminating history on the wall
like a movie screen.
I awake alone;
throw on a tank top and wiggle into jeans
tight enough to divine
my lack of counting calories.
I've grown so tired of my own company-
I want to pick up the phone
and tell you how I feel.
I try to tell myself
that this is just a flirtation;
but even I can see through that lie.
my life isn't half of what it should be
without your casual style.
your sweet affection brings the blue to my skies-
now if I could only find a way to tell you
how much I need you in my life.
