for your papers aren't yet dry
I fixed him with an icy glare
and I'll explain here why.
I'm battered and I'm broken
my eyebrow doesn't seem to fit,
a crunching in my toe bone
where it's lost it's cosy knit.
This voyage through the ozone
makes the ear drums burst
you've the effrontery to tell me
that I can't relieve my thirst.
Well
he bowed his head before me
you could see I'd got to him
a man that's here before
with supposedly no sin.
Pots were quickly gathered
with cups dainty and sky blue,
the kettle soon was boiling
in the saucer cookies too.
We sat round in a circle
on the comfiest of clouds
balancing the feast on
the remnants of my shrouds.
As we sat replete and smiling
thunder crashed across the sea
I said don't be taking on so,
Lad come and have some tea.
Poetry Survivor
Poets Choice Trigger 45
You're so grear with these tricky triggers. This is wonderfully funny.<p> Tess
You did a wonderful job with what is, arguably, the most difficult of the Survivor triggers. I love it when you rhyme; it's comes so naturally to you and makes for a silky smooth read. There's an "it's" that I think should be an "its," but maybe it is my misread. You done good, Annie. :-) xo, S.
Kooky, Annie, real kooky! But gooooood. As are you, love. Thank you for sharing this.
Never would have thought of this solution to the trigger (I'd go for a spaceship or something). And your rhymes work so well !
