His heart twisted in his chest and he suddenly understood why she had been so afraid to tell him the truth. Once she had thought he was dead and it had almost broken her completely. That pain had never fully left her and was what drove her relentlessly to ensure he was always safe along with the pack. She would never do anything to endanger him or his people.

"You couldn't ever lose me," he groaned softly rocking her gently as he kissed the top of her head. "You'll always be my Annie, my baby girl. Nothing and no one will ever be able to take that away. I swear it."

His gaze connected with Gard's, his eyes hardening as he gave his sister all the reassurance she needed. For a moment they glared at each other and then the vampire slowly nodded his head, conceding they both had a valid claim to call this woman their sister.

To be continued...

It's a miracle any of these characters are still alive given how high-strung and prone to violence they are. Maybe some classes in meditation or yoga would help? (Yes, I know the story is more entertaining as it is)

To anonymos

If they told everything to each other and talked everything out there would b no story it would b just dialog. It would b boring and no one would read it. Surely you youself would prefer an interesting story opposed to a story that nothing ever exciting ever happens?

SPEAK!

The complete lack of communication in ALL of these stories is seriously starting to get on my nerves.

Are you sriously going to tell me that creatures that can live for hundreds or even thousands of years have not figured out the importance of communication?

All this bullshit about the other person not understanding when they haven't made the slightest attempt to explain.

I might not be able to finish this shit.

Oops!

Sorry Jaz! I'm on my iPad. I didn't mean to press 4stars, I was going for 5... But it doesn't seem like I can correct that now.

My apologies x

Something I'll never understand...

Is why, Count2Three, you continue to read Jaz's stories, when it's so obvious you don't like them. Honestly, if all you're going to do is complain (in damn near every story, too), then why don't you stop reading? That way the rest of us can enjoy without your stupid little comments.

On further note. Her character, Dayton, losing his mate, would be like a man losing his wife, or a wife losing her husband. Trust me, the pain is crippling.

As for long hair on a man? It's hot... Of course, you're probably bald. I wonder if that's why you have such an issue with the men's sexy long locks.
