"I wonder if they have our rooms ready yet?" She tapped the joint on the side of the ashtray as she blew out the words in a hazy cloud. She was sexy, And goofy and fun. She wasn't like any other woman he had even been with. He was sure he was in love with her now. Watching her pretend to eat the Poffertjes daintily, but he knew she loved them by the way she licked her fingers greedily and the smile of pure joy that softened her expression as the sticky sweet butter glossed her lips. Fischer imagined that face was something akin to the one she made while being fucked and that made him smile.

They had meandered to the hotel after breakfast, but there were still no rooms open. Sam had shyly suggested going to the coffeeshop that was two doors down from their hotel. He had wanted to bring it up, but he wasn't sure if she was a smoker or not. She had let him buy the weed while she bought him a coffee then she sat giggling as they each rolled a joint. It had been a while for both of them and the joints had been lumpy and imperfect, but as they shared his first and then hers they relaxed and talked and then sat quietly, each of them in their own world taking in the sounds all around them and the camaraderie they felt from being put together by fate and kept together by circumstance.

"We could go back over and see." His eyes wandered over her face and he traced a lazy circle on her wrist that was on the bar. She gave a grin that matched the speed of his finger. They had been touching each other since halfway through the first smoke. a bump of the shoulder here, a touch of the hand there. They hadn't kissed yet, but he knew it wouldn't be long.

"How about a few more minutes so I can finish this?" He picked up the roach she had left in the ashtray and took a long inhale.

"I'm not moving very fast, so that sounds like an excellent idea."

"Next time, we should give the Volcano a try," Simon tapped the silver piece of machinery in front of them, and she nodded.

"We should. I love mine."

"You have one?" He was impressed. He didn't know a whole lot of women who smoked, and he certainly didn't know any who were so into it that they owned paraphernalia. Most were content to pretend they didn't even know how to light a pipe, much less how to smoke. Samantha, who's last name he didn't currently know, was a pretty remarkable woman.

"I do. It doesn't get as good a workout as it could, but it is lots of fun at parties." She winked at him and then slid off the stool. "Be right back, I have to hit the head." His eyes followed her to the bathroom and he couldn't help but admire the swing of her hips, or the way her jeans hung low on those hips. He also couldn't help but notice that there were plenty of other eyes on her as well. And he couldn't blame the other guys. She was really sexy, but not conventionally so. He pondered his next move for the next few minutes until she got back, and then she told him she was ready to go.

Stalking out into the chilly November air, he took his hand in hers and they walked the few hundred feet to their hotel, stepped into the lobby and found that their rooms still weren't ready.

"I think I'm going to sit in the lobby, Simon. I'm far too tired to go anywhere else." she sighed. He agreed to sit with her, and they dozed in the modern looking, comfy chairs until the woman at the desk bustled over to him with his key thirty minutes later.

"Mr. Fisher, I have your room all ready," She handed him the key, telling him that she would have his luggage sent up to his room as soon as possible.

"What about Samantha?"

"Don't worry about me, I'll just wait here until it open up," Sam mumbled with a huge yawn. He didn't want her to have to wait, and frankly, he didn't want to leave her.

"Why don't you come up with me? You can sleep on the bed and I will sleep on the floor."

Simon and the woman with the name tag that said Mira watched as a few emotions flew across Sam's face.

"Thank you, Simon, I appreciate that." She said finally. "Can you keep my bags behind the counter for a few hours while I sleep?" She asked Mira.

"Yes of course." Mira gave a nod and repeated the number 245, then walked back to her station.

Sam followed closely behind him to the elevator and thanked him a few times on their way to the door. When he opened the door to his room, they stepped inside and she purred. "I can;t wait until I get into the bed. I haven't been this tired in a long time."

"Me too." The two quietly explored the room that was small but luxurious. and met at the little vestibule of the room.

"This is really nice." She said in approval. "And it's really nice of you to let me stay here."

"It was partly to be nice," Simon said honestly. "But it was partly selfish. I hope it isn't too forward to say this, but I have really enjoyed being with you, and I'd like to see you again while you're here."

Her heart galloped in her chest. She had had a feeling that he was interested in her, and that was confirmed for her when he took her hand outside of the coffee shop. Tingles had fired through her body, seeming to make every hair stand on end. She really, really liked him. She had from the first time he had smiled at her as she walked down the aisle of the plane. He was impossibly good looking. A straight strong nose, a straight strong jaw, and a mouth that was just this side of feminine. Sensuous was the word that sprang to her mind when she thought of them, and she had often during the flight. Certainly more than she had any right to. When he had kept following her, she dared to hope that there was something there. And at breakfast, and during all their time together, she had never once felt unsafe though she was sure her mother would have had a conniption if she had known that she was hanging out with a man who was a virtual stranger. But he wasn't. He was proof of something she had always thought was bullshit. She had fallen in love back on the plane when he had asked her what she did, but he hadn't asked her name. When he had looked at her and she saw longing and her future in his eyes.

"Well, of course, you would have seen me again. I put my number in the book when you went to the restroom at breakfast." They laughed, and then turned when there was a knock on the door. "I'll get it." he offered, and she gave a grateful smile. She dropped onto the fluffy, white clad bed and closed her eyes with joy. This bed was the answer to her prayers. Pillowy down comforter in white, snowy down pillows and smooth cool cotton. She slipped off her shoes and sat at the edge of the bed with her eyes closed while he accepted the bags and tipped the bell hop. He came into the room, turning off the television and the lights. He opened the closet and reached in to get the extra blankets and pillows out and he heard her call his name.

"No need to sleep on the floor, Simon. You can sleep in the bed with me." He ambled over and sat on the other side of the bed.

"Thank you," Simon sighed.

They quickly stripped out of the clothes they had traveled in, and pulled back the covers and snuggled down into the bed his body folded over hers.

"If it's alright with you, I'd like to just sleep," She yawned again. and he nodded.

"We can fool around when we wake up." He teased. The sound of her laughter was the last thing he heard as he drifted off into a deep, sound sleep.
