The next day Kieran woke up the next morning to banging on his door. He had no idea who would be visiting him this early in the morning as he stole a glance at the clock and saw it was a quarter after seven.
He was naked so he grabbed his robe from behind his bedroom door and placed it on before leaving. He made it to his front door and opened it without checking as to who was on the other end. To his surprise Heather walked in as if she owned the place.
"Good morning Kieran. Long time no see." she smiled sweetly and made her way to the couch.
As she sat down Kieran stared at her as if he was still dreaming; he had to be. He hadn't seen or spoken to Heather since the day she basically ruined his relationship with Lydia. He frowned as he watched her eye him like a prime piece of rib eye steak.
"Damn, baby. You look so good with short hair." she smirked while licking her lips.
"What do you want Heather?" Kieran asked in an impatient tone.
She stood and made her way to him. She stood right in front of him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I've heard such good things about your book. I even brought a copy." she seductively whispered.
Kieran groaned and pushed Heather's arms from his body. "Will you get to the real reason you show up at my door after nearly a year?"
Heather smirked. "Well, I have some news that I would rather share over a romantic dinner. Are you free tomorrow night?"
"For you? Hell no." Kieran scoffed.
Heather pouted. "Oh come on. Trust me, you'll much rather me tell you this news than someone else. I made a reservation for us at eight tomorrow night at that cute little restaurant we ate at the first night we spent together."
Kieran wondered what she had up her sleeve. He wished he could shake her news out of her but he decided to play along. "All right I'll see you tomorrow at eight."
Heather smiled and tip toed to place a kiss on his cheek. She made her way to the front door and left. Kieran sighed deeply as he closed and locked the door.
Lydia spent about an hour telling Anamaria her troubles. She needed a second opinion on what she should do as she was clueless. Anamaria listened intently and didn't speak until Lydia was finished.
"Sweetie, as much I am happy that Russell loves you with all his heart and treats you like a queen, I think you and Kieran didn't have enough time together for you to have moved on so quickly. Maybe you should talk to Russell and postpone the wedding and during that time you should try again with Kieran."
"Oh no Ana, I can't do that. I promised Russell that I had Kieran out of my system." Lydia cried.
"But it's obvious you don't." Anamaria pointed out.
Lydia then told Anamaria about the letter.
"Then your choice is clear." she said simply.
Lydia heard Trevor crying in the background so she knew that was the cue that Anamaria had to go. They ended their call and Lydia placed her hands over her face and let out a scream.
She had less than an hour before she had to get ready for work. She made her way into the bathroom and started a shower. She wrapped a towel around her body and made her way into her bedroom. She dried off and then dressed for the day. She hurried into the kitchen and made a quick breakfast. After eating she went into her bedroom and found the letter she had written. She blew out a breath as she left and headed to the post office. She paid to have the letter delivered tomorrow and then made the fifteen minute trek to work.
Anamaria heated a bottled while rocking Trevor. He was hungry and very impatient. She tried her best to calm him as she heard a knock on the door. She cursed as she headed for the door. She opened it and Kieran walked in with a new toy and a huge smile.
"How's my boy?" Kieran stated and scooped Trevor out of Ana's arms.
Trevor stopped crying and sobbed a bit as he stared at his godfather. Anamaria sighed that his first attempt to calm her son worked.
"He's hungry and I was just making him a bottle." Anamaria told Kieran.
She accepted the toy and placed it inside the closet by the door. She closed the door as Kieran walked further inside. She headed back into the kitchen and retrieved the bottle. She tested the warmth of the milk on her arm and then returned to Kieran. She gave him the bottle and they both sat on the couch.
Anamaria watched as Kieran fed Trevor and was thankful for the help; Troy had been working nearly every day ever since a house caught fire and he was on call to help the small family that was caught in the blaze.
"Have you talked to Lydia?" Kieran asked out of the blue while they both watched Trevor gobble down Anamaria's breast milk.
"What? Why do you ask? I mean, I talked to her earlier." Anamaria stammered.
"Did she mention me?"
"If she did, I don't think it's my place to say anything. You two should talk to each other." she told him.
Kieran nodded as Trevor finished off the bottle. He placed him on his shoulder and gently patted and massaged his back. Trevor let out a hearty burp and snuggled against Kieran.
Anamaria smiled. "I think you will be a great father one day."
Kieran then handed Trevor to Anamaria. "Not anytime soon I hope."
They both laughed and Anamaria got up to put Trevor in his crib as he had fallen asleep. She came back out into the living room a few minutes later and she and Kieran talked for a few minutes before Kieran flipped on the TV to the sports channel.
Anamaria asked him if he was hungry and he replied that he was. She went into the kitchen and made brunch. She was done in half an hour and she and Kieran ate the meal in the living room.
"You know, my book is doing extremely well and my publishers want to me to write a second book." Kieran told Anamaria.
"Well that is great news!" she exclaimed and high fived him.
"Yeah, it is but I really don't have any inspiration right now." he frowned.
"You will. It will come to you when you least expect it."
Kieran finished his food and told Anamaria he would stop by later when Troy got home. He stood and left the apartment. As he headed to his car he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw a text message from Heather.
~You'll regret missing our reservation. See you tomorrow, kisses~
He groaned and replaced his phone back in his pocket. He got into his car and headed back home.
Lydia avoided Russell throughout the day; she even skipped having lunch with him so she could clear her head. She even fought back tears as she clocked out for the day and prepared to head home for the last time.
She had barely four hours to pack some clothes. She cried as she placed her clothes into two suitcases and wished the decision she was about to make wasn't so damn hard. But it was clear the choice had to be made.
Once she felt she had enough clothes to last at least two weeks she removed her engagement ring and placed it on one of the nightstands. She then left and hailed down a taxi. She got into the backseat and gave the driver the address where she wanted to be taken. He nodded and headed in that direction.
She arrived in front of a cheap motel ten minutes later. She paid the driver and walked inside. The clerk perked up when he saw her and seemed happy to have a customer.
"Can I help you?" he asked politely.
"I would like a room." Lydia choked out as she placed her suitcases on the floor next to her feet.
"For how long?" the clerk asked as he accessed his computer.
"Umm, three days I guess. I can check out earlier if I need to, right?"
"Yes ma'am." he smiled and punched into the keyboard. "I need to see an ID and there is a twenty five dollar refundable deposit; cash or credit. Three nights will be $59.95."
Lydia pulled her ID and some cash out of her purse. The clerk assigned her a room and handed her a key.
"Check out is at noon. Our staff will be happy to help you with anything you need."
Lydia thanked him and picked her suitcases back up. She rushed to the stairs as her room was on the second floor. She entered her room and collapsed on the bed which she found was clean.
She hoped she was making the right decision and it wouldn't be something that she would regret later in life.
It was after midnight when Russell made it home. He was tired and really needed to feel Lydia pressed up against his body. He pulled off his jacket and dropped it on the couch. He made his way to his bedroom and flipped on the light. He was surprised to see that Lydia wasn't in the bed.
He called out her name and when she didn't answer he pulled out his cell phone. He called her but got her voicemail. He hung up and redialed her number. When he got voicemail once again he began to panic. Where was she? He called Anamaria and when she groggily answered he apologized for calling so late.
"Is Lydia there with you and Troy?" he asked in a rush.
"No, why would she be here with us?" Anamaria grogged.
"She's not here."
"Maybe she's with my brother."
"She's not answering her phone."
"She's probably asleep. Russell, I will call Dante and if she's not with him then we can panic." Anamaria stated and disconnected.
Russell ran his hand through his hair after he placed his phone down. Was this a joke because he did not find it funny.
Russell did not hear back from Anamaria within an hour and he tried to call Lydia back but got voicemail once again. He ended up falling asleep on the couch with horrible thoughts running through his mind.
The next morning the doorbell woke Russell. He jumped up and realized everything that had happened a few hours ago wasn't a dream. He walked to the front door and opened it to see the mailman on the other end.
Russell nodded and the mailman handed him a letter.
"Have a good day sir."
Russell looked at the letter and noticed it was Lydia's handwriting. His heart sank as he closed the door and fell into the recliner that was closest to the door. He opened the letter slowly and pulled out a single page and read it aloud.
If you are reading this letter it is because I had to make a tough decision. I love you so much but I felt it would be unfair for you to have a wife who had a missing piece of her heart that was in the palm of another man's hand. I know I said I would let Kieran go but I lied. I have to follow my heart and I have to see if what Kieran and I had was something that was meant to be. I won't blame you if you hate me but if you find it in your heart to forgive me then I would be very grateful. The time we spent together will never be forgotten and you will always be in my heart.
Russell balled up the letter and tossed it across the room. Tears fell from his eyes and he could hear his heart breaking into a million pieces.
Lydia woke in her hotel room and took in her surroundings. She realized that she had made a difficult choice last night and now she had to follow through with the second part of that difficult choice. She got out of bed and headed into the bathroom to shower and change.
She walked out of the room half an hour later and left the motel. She hailed down a taxi passing through and gave the driver Kieran's address. She was taken there and paid the fare before exiting.
She didn't move even after the taxi speed off. She stared at the door to Kieran's apartment and blew out a breath. She looked down at her hands and saw them trembling. She wringed her hands together as she willed her legs, which felt like bricks, to move.
She made it to the door and reached out, balled her right hand into a fist and knocked on the door. She pulled her hand back and stood on the doorsteps for what seemed like an eternity before she heard footsteps approaching the door.
The door swung open and Lydia was face to face with Kieran for the first time in three months. She gave him a weak smile but he gave her a brighter one.
"Hey. What are you doing here?" he asked.
Lydia's eyes zoomed over his naked torso and she fought the urge to lick her lips at the sight. She said a silent prayer for strength.
"Can I come in?" she asked after clearing her throat and meeting Kieran's eyes.
He nodded and stepped aside. She crossed over the threshold and made her way to the couch. She sat down and Kieran sat a few inches from her.
"Sorry for dropping by unannounced." she began. "There's something I needed to tell you face to face."
Kieran licked his dry lips and could feel his heart pounding in his chest. He wondered what she was about to say.
"When I first laid eyes on you I thought you were the most gorgeous thing on the face of this Earth. You were something I thought I could never have and when you did show interest me I wanted to know how I got so lucky. After I gave you my virginity and then the girl stated that she was with you I just couldn't think straight. I was hurt but I should've just listened to and maybe we wouldn't be in this mess today. I am so sorry that I gave up on us so soon.
I told Russell three months ago that I would let you go and focus on the wedding but I couldn't marry him if even a piece of my heart is with you. I came over here to ask you if you could not only find it in your heart to forgive me but also if we could start over and see if what we had was something that was meant to be."
Lydia blew out a breath after she poured her heart out to Kieran. He had kept constant eye contact with her during her speech and he smiled when she was done.
"Kiss me." he said simply.
Lydia didn't think she heard him right. "What?"
"Come over here and kiss me."
Lydia slid over to him slowly. She placed her hands on either side of his face and stared at his lips. She licked her own and moved in for the kill. She pressed her lips against his and she noticed he was not returning the kiss. She moved her lips and pressed her tongue between his lips.
Within seconds Kieran wrapped his arms around Lydia and participated in the kiss. He took control and reacquainted himself with Lydia's mouth. When he pulled away to take a much needed breath he pecked her lips and watched her slowly open her eyes.
"Lydia, there is nothing more that I want right now than you. But what I think we should do is take things slow and not jump into a full fledged relationship. I want you to be sure that this choice that you're making is right because I don't want you to regret anything."
Lydia smiled as if he had been reading her mind. She pulled him toward her and kissed his lips once more.
"Hey, don't you have to work today? Do you need a ride?" Kieran asked as he pulled back before their kisses became more intense.
"Nope. I took a few days off." she told him.
Kieran then resumed the kisses and pulled Lydia onto his lap. He pulled his face away from hers and groaned as her covered pussy was inches away from his straining cock. He hadn't had sex in a year and it was definitely time to rejuvenate his libido.
"If you want to take things slow then we have to wait to have sex." Lydia whispered in his ear as she felt him grinding his dick into her.
"Oh, come on baby. Make up sex is the best sex." Kieran smirked as he pushed her hair away from her face.
He then leaned forward and sucked on the soft flesh of her neck. Her giggles were right in his ear and turned him on immensely.
Lydia pulled back and shook a finger at him. "No, you can't be a contradiction. Besides I've gone twenty six years without sex so you'll be fine."
Kieran laughed. "You can't count from birth up to fourteen as going without sex you perv."
Lydia playfully slapped his arm as she laughed.
"So, what are we going to do all day?" Kieran pondered.
"Why don't we go pay a visit to Ana, Troy and Trevor?" Lydia suggested.
"That's cool. I have to call Troy to make sure he will be off today."
Kieran gently moved Lydia off his lap and got off the couch. He told her he was jumping in the shower and made a subtle motion for her to join him but she declined with a smile.
While he showered Lydia checked her phone and saw a few missed calls from Russell. She felt bad for hurting him but she would've hurt him worse if she stayed with him out of convenience. She dialed Ana's number and told her everything that happened.
"Well, I'm glad you made a decision. I hope nothing else comes between you and Kieran."
"Fingers crossed." Lydia smiled. "Kieran and I are coming over to spend some time with you guys. Is Troy off work today?"
"He's supposed to be."
"All right well we'll be there soon."
She hung up just as Kieran walked out wearing a towel around his lower body.
"Were you talking to Ana?" he asked while he used a second towel to dry his hair.
Lydia nodded and ran her eyes over his wet body and was seriously regretting the decision to wait for sex.
"Is Troy off?"
She nodded once again and Kieran noticed her eyes did not once meet his but were instead on his body. He smirked as he walked toward her and dropped both of his towels when he was inches from her.
Lydia gasped as Kieran's thick manhood jutted out in front of her face. It was so pretty and she wanted to reach out and touch it.
"Go ahead. Touch it." Kieran spoke softly as he saw her reach her hand out toward his dick but jerk it back.
Lydia felt embarrassed and her cheeks instantly grew hot. The several times she and Russell had sex they never strayed from the missionary position and she had never given him a hand job. Within a few seconds Kieran grabbed her hand and guided it to his hard member. She figured she had been taking too long to decide what she wanted to do.
He held her hand and showed her what he wanted. He groaned in pleasure as her small, soft hand moved over his shaft and the head of his dick.
"You feel how hard that is baby?" he gritted out.
Lydia did feel it; it was like a long skin covered rock was in her hand.
"Does it hurt?" she asked while continuing to stare at his dick.
"Not right now because it feels good in your hand, but when I'm hard like this and there's no release then fuck yeah it hurts." he said while laughing a bit.
She nodded and continued to move her hand. After a while Kieran let go and told her to move her hand faster in a shaking motion. He moved his hand in the air for demonstration.
She did so and she figured she was doing it right as Kieran let out a slew of curses and began moving his hips forward.
"Just like that baby. Oh, fuck!"
Lydia noticed a small pearly liquid leave the slit at the head of his penis. She felt his penis twitch in her hand.
"Faster!" Kieran yelped.
Lydia increased her pace and watched as Kieran threw his head back and growled. At least five long streams of his cum shot out and hit her on her face, the top of her blouse and on the couch behind her. A few smaller spurts landed on her hand.
Kieran breathing was rapid as he sank down to his knees. He picked up the towel he had around his body and handed it to Lydia. He watched her clean up the mess but noticed his cum had stained her shirt.
"Sorry about that. Do you have a change of clothes?"
"At the motel I'm staying at." she told him while she cleaned the couch.
"I'll take you by there to get your things. You can stay here with me as long as you want." Kieran said.
Lydia nodded and then she felt Kieran place his hands on the button to her jeans. He unbuttoned and unzipped them.
"What are you doing?" she asked naively while he pulled them down.
"Returning the favor." he said in a husky voice.
He pulled her jeans over her hips and down her legs. He then removed her panties and placed one of her legs over his shoulder. Her neatly shaven pussy was splayed in front of him and he licked his lips.
