Demonic Submission Ch. 08byTheLastChaosLord©
Celestine couldn't help but marvel at the fact that her hand was completely healed already... What should have taken months to heal was repaired in minuets, and there wasn't even any scar or other indication that she had hurt herself at all. Truly she was impressed at the sheer scale of power a demon could bring to bear and wondered if they were all this capable. However she noticed as she looked forwards that Rena seemed to be almost bouncing lightly, as if delighted...
"What has you all bouncy Rena?" Celestine asked slightly amused. Rena's joy was almost infectious.
Rena turned around in her seat and looked back to Celestine grinning happily. "It's Edmond. I'm really happy that I got to be the one who got to mark him and even happier because he suits me well as a servant. I like the clothes he makes and I enjoy being around him. Plus, it'll be easy for me to reward him if I think he deserves one... Or if I'm just horny."
Celestine couldn't help but laugh at Rena's easy going outlook on the matter. Still, part of her was chilled by the fact that Rena had marked Edmond. It was another unsettling reminder that Rena was in fact a demon. "I imagine so. But I really don't think you should beat him so much... I mean that can't be healthy." Celestine responded.
Rena shrugged, still grinning. "That's just it Celestine, he likes it! He doesn't admit it, but he does really like it! I mean I was getting him to eat me out, and then I strapped him and he jumped in excitement and pleasure, and ate me out all the more desperately and couldn't help but moan in delight. If you really need more proof, he came right after I strapped him."
"Okay okay! Enough... I don't really need more description beyond that, thank you." Celestine was almost beat red. She knew that there were masochists out there, where pain brought them pleasure. But hearing about it, and seeing the person specifically, embarrassed her.
"Oh come on Celestine!" Rena whined. "If I can't talk to you about this who can I talk to? This is what girl friends do right? Gossip and share about their lovers or any trysts they may have had?"
Celestine could tell that Rena was honestly asking her and she supposed it was true. Her friends on the outside often gossiped about a recent lay or fuck and compared notes. She also realized she was largely left out of those conversations... "Uh... I suppose you're right. But I am not exactly the greatest person to talk to about this. It isn't like I have a lot of examples to compare to or have a lover to talk about."
Rena giggled before responding under her breath. "You don't have one yet you mean."
Celestine frowned having not heard most of it. "Pardon?"
"Oh nothing." Rena said grinning all the way. But she quickly changed the topic to avoid further scrutiny. "But hey, have you thought about what your decision is going to be?"
Celestine cocked her head confused. "Uh... what are you talking about Rena?" She looked to Tristan who only gave her a slight shrug. He didn't know what she meant either.
Rena gave a sigh and head drooped in frustration. "I swear, you mortals never seem to be able to hold a grudge. Fine, I'll remind you. With the chef, that sloth demon, remember? How she tried to kill you. Ringing any bells?"
Celestine suddenly recalled all at once and her hand went to over her heart to make sure it was still running normally. The sloth demon had nearly shut down her whole system, without even so much as lifting a finger... However as she remembered she felt an almost palpable cloud of hate emanating from Tristan. Both Celestine and Rena looked to him warily and Rena could only squeak out an "Oops..."
Tristan took a long moment and got himself steadied again before speaking, though both of them could tell he was keeping his voice under control. "That stupid fool, Damn her... She couldn't just leave it well enough alone..."
Claude spoke up from the driver's seat. "If I may my lord, it isn't actually all that surprising. Sloth demons are notorious for their ability to shrug of even the direst insult with apathy. Yet if you can somehow get them to do more work then is absolutely necessary, their fits of vengeance can be almost legendary. Though I had hoped the Chef would have let it lie."
Rena spoke up. "I'm fairly sure she was trying to kill Celestine with her powers. Out of all the spheres sloth is the most subtle when used to simply shut down a body... No injuries, no poisons to detect, it just looks like a natural untimely death to most. Right?"
Claude nodded. "Indeed that is true. To mortals it just seems odd and strange, but to demons it's a calling card. Still, she is not the only sloth demon within our walls, so it would be difficult to pin it to her specifically. Regardless of that, I'm surprised she would act at all. She had to know that even if we had no proof we would act against her."
Rena shrugged unsure before glancing to Tristan, who seemed to be deep in thought. Regardless Rena looked back to Celestine who had thus far just been listening. "So, what do you think? You want me to kill her or not? It isn't like you have to watch or anything, but you need to make up your mind. Personally I would kill her... she could have a lot of opportunities to kill you if you don't... poison your food, plant traps in your bed or room, hell she could just run into you alone in a hall and smash you into a bloody paste that would only half soak into the carpets..."
Celestine looked to Rena and frowned. "Thank you for that visceral and detailed image..." Looking to Claude and Tristan she found that all of them were looking to her and expecting a reply... "Isn't there another way? Can't we just... I don't know... fire her? And I don't mean with literal fire... I mean just kick her out."
"No, we couldn't." Claude began. "She knows about you and the mansion in general. It is rare for a demon to leave a lord service without actually being released, and that only occurs when it is earned. If we did so now, it would look like our lord was weak, and didn't punish those who wronged him... This would invite outside powers to try and force their desires upon him. Obviously we cannot allow that to happen. So we either allow her to live, while staying in our service while simply punishing her, or murder her and take no risk at all that she may retaliate against you."
Celestine worried at the hem of her dress, mind spinning round and round. She didn't want to be responsible for the death of anyone, but she knew that if she didn't, it could be her own life on the line... "...Fine..." Celestine finally managed, looking down not able to meet any of their eyes. "Do it... Kill her."
Eventually she dared to look up, and to Tristan first. He was looking back to her, an impressed look to him. Apparently he was pleased that she took this route. Looking to Claude, she could see his eyes in the rearview mirror and he seemed proud of her and her choice. Looking away she dreaded looking to Rena... Yes she considered the small demoness her friend... but Celestine could feel Rena's desire for murder and destruction... Slowly looking at Rena, she found the small demoness smiling wickedly, white teeth exposed, and the purple glow emanating from her eyes. Rena wasn't looking to Celestine... she was just looking out into space, but Celestine could see that Rena was imagining how she was going to kill the sloth demon... And part of her knew immediately that it wasn't going to be quick or painless...
Celestine didn't even realize they had pulled up until Rena had opened the backseat door for her. Celestine took a moment to snap out of it but she got out and looked about. Immediately she had to keep her jaw from dropping. It was almost like she had gone back in time, and was standing before some ancient granite gateway, with two stone towers flanking the entrance of the grounds and the stairs that led up... beyond these finely crafted marvels she saw a stone walkway, raised fully ten feet off the ground, covered by a large stone ceiling which was held up by wide stone columns which allowed a full view of the world beyond them.
"Don't look too impressed." Tristan said slightly amused at her reaction. "Most of these are fabricated to simply look like ancient Greek architecture. Some of it is real, but the majority of it isn't, not yet anyway. Lady Lavanna has been adding bit by bit to the grounds actual granite and real stone. She says that it'll last longer." Tristan shrugged and smiled lightly as they progressed up the stairs. Celestine meanwhile felt like they had gone back in time, Claude and Rena standing out badly in the ancient looking grounds. Still when the reached the top of the stairs several attendants seemed to be waiting for them and bowed to Tristan and the others. Each of them was wearing a simple Robe that was similar in style to Tristan's but lighter and slightly covered more. They also bore no actual armor, though she did notice that these men were armed with short blades strapped to their hips.
Once up on the walkway Celestine looked out beyond the columns and saw water ponds and gardens, each looked well cared for. Yet she also noticed the grounds for this place were not as large as Tristan's and bore little decoration beyond the buildings themselves. However the clapping of shoes on stone drew her attention forwards and saw that someone was coming towards them, flanked by two more men, similarly dressed to the ones at the gates.
Claude spoke up in a whisper to her before the newcomer was within ear shot. "Keep to the left of our lord, and just a little back. Do not speak unless spoken to, or if Lord Durial gives you permission. I know its belittling, but it is for your safety." Celestine looked to him but nodded regardless. As much as she didn't like the idea... she wasn't stupid or suicidal. They had warned her again and again, that other demons could be vicious and ruthless, and often easily offended. Celestine quickly fell into step where she was supposed to be, and found Rena flanking her slightly and was just ahead of her, though still behind Tristan. She also noticed that Rena had changed how she was walking... Before she took light and almost girly steps, but now her stride was firm and balanced, as if ready to jump to someone's defense.
Her attentions were drawn away though as the newcomer approached with what appeared to be guards. Celestine was fairly certain it was a she, but given that Celestine could see none of her actual features it was hard to tell... The woman who came forwards was covered from head to toe in purple robes, finely embroidered with gold and silver. The sleeves were long enough to obscure her hands, and the hem of the robe was low enough to hide her feet. The only thing that gave her away as being a woman was the fact that she had breasts. Not large by any means, but still noticeable enough. Finally, and perhaps most oddly, was the mask she wore...It was finely engraved gold, and was in the shape of a bland feminine face. It had a frock that covered all hair and only two holes for the eyes to see through, though from outside they appeared dark and empty...
The newcomer's voice came out, and it added to Celestine's assumption that this person was female. Her voice was soft, and to Celestine's ear, sounded as if she was always whispering, despite being loud enough to hear easily. "Lord Durial, welcome to my humble abode!" The woman bowed slightly and then looked up again. "I am happy to see you are well, and if I may be so bold, in such high fashion as well."
Tristan offered his arm to her as he spoke. "It is good to see you again Lady Lavanna, and I must applaud your own choice in garb. I always thought purple would suit you well. And I see you are enjoying the mask I had made for you. It does fit well I hope?" Celestine was surprised to hear that Tristan was actually genuinely curious and concerned if the mask fit or not. Odd to hear it from him...
"Indeed my lord it does. I had some minor alterations made for the straps to hold it in place but otherwise it was perfect. But please come inside and enjoy my home. I've had some food prepared for you and your aides, should you desire it. If you prefer anything specific, simply let me know and I shall have it prepared for you." Celestine watched as this Lavanna woman spoke, and was startled to see that she reached out and took Tristan's hand. While Celestine couldn't see Lavanna's hand, it was clear that Lavanna was about to loop her own arm with his, much like Celestine could have any time Tristan offered his arm to her... An annoying shot of jealousy ran through Celestine, and immediately she tried to stomp it out. Unfortunately that was all it took...
Lavanna went completely rigid for a moment, which everyone noticed immediately. The guards especially moved to put their hands on their weapons, despite the look to their faces saying that told they knew they didn't stand a chance if they faced any of them... However they relaxed when Lavanna slowly turned towards Celestine, having let go of Tristan's arm. "Oh... oh my... W-... What is this my lord? What gem have you found that enraptures my eyes so?" Lavanna's voice came out almost shuddering in delight and excitement... Taking a single step towards Celestine her arms began to reach out. Celestine steeled herself, and held her ground however. Part of her knew that fleeing would only reflect badly on Tristan...
"This is Celestine." Tristan began to explain, watching warily. "She is my guest at the moment, and I've deemed her appropriate to be at my side." That part Celestine didn't understand. Why did he need to explain that? But the question was brushed aside when Lavanna's obscured hands continued to stretch out towards her...
"So... beautiful. Dazzling and perfect... Oh... if only I had her..." Celestine could hear the envy dripping off Lavanna's words now, and part of her realized that she was in danger... Rena slipped in front of Celestine, not obscuring Lavanna's view entirely, but making it known that she was there. Lavanna dragged her gaze away from Celestine and looked to Rena, chuckling lightly. "Indeed you must be prized... to have so mighty a Guardian... It is good to see you again Rena... You are much more... controlled compared to when we last met." Lavanna didn't wait for a reply... but instead looked back to Celestine.
It was then that Celestine was able to see into the eyes of the mask, and what was behind them confused her... Where Lavanna's eyes were, there appeared to be some sort of... fractal glass... or... No. It was like her eyes were that of an insect... not large and bulbous, but like she had compound eyes where they were made up of thousands of tiny plates... The thought of it immediately sent a chill down Celestine's spine and it was a battle not to back away.
Lavanna took another step forwards, and Celestine could see Rena beginning to tense up to attack, but Lavanna stopped dead cold when Tristan put his hand on one of her arms. Lavanna looked to Tristan startled and listened as he spoke. "She is my guest Lavanna... You may look... but not touch."
Lavanna nodded after she seemed to compose herself. "Of course my lord, I would never dream of trying to take anything from you." Lavanna explained. "She must be very special, for you to treat her so well. As I recall, you usually break them down within a few hours. Yet you given her a fine dress and brought her with you... I also speculate you have begun educating her, along with having given her the first mark. Special indeed." Lavanna's voice had become calm again, and apparently she had reared herself in. But Celestine was aware of what caused this, even without it being explained... She had become jealous for a moment... envious. Lady Lavanna was a demon of envy... it wasn't surprising she could sense it in others... She would have to be careful around this demoness.
Lady Lavanna led them into the main house of the estate and Celestine tried not to stare at the unique architecture. The place had tall ceilings, and a sense of openness was created by the standing columns that held the roof up while still not being part of the walls. They soon found themselves in a chamber that looked almost like a small theater. In the center of the room there was a pit of sorts large enough for several people. Outside the pit were elevated rings where a person could sit or even lounge back. Most of the area was covered in pillows and soft looking rugs. Trays were set out with food and just at the sight of them; Celestine realized she was hungry again. It had only been about four hours since she had breakfast, but given how little she had eaten before, and the marginal size of her breakfast to begin with, she wasn't surprised.
As they sat Celestine began to pick at the food, doing her best not to simply stuff her face. All the while she paid close attention to what was being said between Lavanna and Tristan. Claude seemed to be in the same process but Rena simply lay back on the pillows and lounged. At first the majority of what went on was small talk; Tristan asking how her accounts were going, how she was doing in terms of help and servants. By and large it sounded like Lavanna was doing well, despite the fact that she didn't have many powerful or exceptionally strong demons under her. Instead she had a wide range of 'whisperers' as she referred to them, mortal spies and confidants that stretched into every avenue of the mortal world. Further, from how she was describing it, she also had demonic spies as well, within the holds of other nobles, though she did not name any one of them.
Celestine also noticed the presence of another demon within the room... Somehow she knew he was one, just by looking at him, and she knew he was trouble. He was tall, almost as tall as Claude, who literally dwarfed everyone else in their group. However unlike Claude, this man was not appealing to the eyes. It wasn't that he was ugly; it was that his face was always seemed to be a half step away from being tightened into a scowl. He was heavily muscled and had long strong looking fingers... Just glancing at him Celestine began to fear what it might be like with those hands around her neck... He struck her as the strangling sort... He also didn't wear clothes that matched the location. Instead he wore a long heavy leather jacket that covered him entirely, despite the warmth of the room and the fact that it was stretched tight over his shoulders and arms.
As they spoke however Celestine noticed that several more demons began to enter the chamber as well, all of which were armed in a variety of blades, axes or spears and small pieces of armor. Even at a glance Celestine could tell that they were all trained fighters, and all were healthy and strong. She could also tell that the weapons they wielded were not dulled in the slightest... Lavanna seemed to take notice as well and spoke off topic. "My lord, perhaps you would enjoy some entertainment? These young wrath demons have come to me to pledge themselves to me. I've yet to test their abilities or accept their offer of service and was wondering if a contest of sorts would be useful in determining their value. Would you agree?"
Tristan seemed to only take notice of them when Lavanna spoke about it, but Celestine saw that as soon as the word "contest" was mentioned, Rena sat bolt upright and was looking at the demons in the pit, and was grinning happily with mischief in her eyes. "My lord, could I mayb-" Rena began, but was quickly cut off.
"No." Tristan replied slightly amused to Rena.
"... But I co-" Rena tried again.
"The answer is still no." Tristan replied grinning wider. Meanwhile the demons in the pit lined up and Celestine realized they were all male...
