Demonic Submission Ch. 21byTheLastChaosLord©
Hello again all!
Yea, so cliffhanger much? Hehe.
Anyway, this chapter will largely deal with the fallout that comes from Celestine being faced with the big evil. It will also cover Celestine meeting a few other mortal servants, and the surprises that brings.
This chapter contains a fair amount of erotica, but again, it is largely at the end of the chapter.
I'd like to give special thanks to WanderingMindGames for all her help and I hope you all enjoy this chapter.
Celestine lay twitching on the ground, her mind overloaded with fear as the demonic abomination circled her, watching her every shudder in malevolent glee. She had blacked out for a few moments and in the meantime the thunderous canopy of its laughter had waned, and now the fell creature simply watched her. Her inner self was still with her, which she would be supremely thankful for later. It hugged her tightly to shield her from the worst of this creature. Without its presence, Celestine was certain she would have died of fright by now...But what was it that the creature said? Fell Born? Was he referring to her?
"Yes..." Its voice hissed again in her mind, making her whole body buck and writhe at the horrific invasion of her awareness.
"Stop!" Celestine rasped out when her body finally allowed it. "Please stop!" She crawled up to her knees and looked at Tristan again through the blackened smoke that followed this creature like a shadow. Yet he and the others were still slowed by some unseen power. "Help me..." She whispered to Tristan, even frozen as he was. Rampant panic threatening to overwhelm her, Celestine knew she wasn't in control of herself. Not fully anyway.
I'm here with you. Her inner voice sounded, somehow soothing as it reinforced her nearly broken will.
"And surely you must wonder why that is... Why this voice, that is yours, but not yours, is with you." The demon asked, almost sliding itself between her and Tristan, its features again filling her vision. "You must surely wonder how it gives you strength..."
Each word was like a shock of blinding agony to her mind. Each syllable felt like it was flogging her mind with razor whips and made her body spasm beyond her control. By the end of the latest string of agony, Celestine couldn't help but rear up and throw up. When she did finally regain control of her faculties, Celestine looked up at the creature, body shuddering uncontrollably. She found that she somehow surprised it, as if her willingly gazing upon it was unexpected. Yet the surprise only seemed to make it smile wider. Still, perhaps in defiance, or perhaps simply because her mind was utterly numb... Celestine turned away from it, and started putting one foot in front of the other, as she tried to stagger away from it. She could only manage one foot at a time... More than that and she would stumble.
"Or maybe, just maybe... you are curious why those closest to you only end up betraying you..." It whispered to her in her own mind.
Celestine stopped dead in her tracks. How could it possibly have known? Celestine turned back to the creature, trying to steel herself as she stared into the utterly wicked entity that stood before her. She was only partially successful though, and couldn't help but shudder as she met its gaze. "How d-" She began, but its grating voice filled her mind again, cutting her off as if it knew all her questions.
"Because that is the fate of all your kind."
"M-My kind? What are you t-talking about? ...I-I'm human!" Celestine tried to shout back, though it came out more as an almost weeping croak. She could feel tears running down her face... The desire to know, warring with her instincts to flee.
"Are you now?" It asked, before it made a sound that Celestine could only guess was snickering... "Oh how sure you sound, but how wrong you are..."
Celestine's face twisted into one of confusion and doubt. "T-Than what am I?" She asked, daring it to answer. "If I am not h-human than what am I? I was born of humans, so what else c-could I be?!" She managed to make her voice stronger again, fighting against the crushing fear. The presence of her inner self was shielding her, but it did not protect her completely.
"Humm... A curious question. The answer to which, he holds..." It glanced beyond her and Celestine looked to find Tristan in her gaze... She stared wide eyed for a long moment before rasping out her next words.
"Y-... You're wrong!" She said as she began to shudder more violently. "I am human! I am!" Celestine made to turn back to the creature but fell to her knees in the process, the little strength that held her up now gone. She found herself choking on the black smoke that billowed about this abomination.
"A human that somehow makes those closest to her become full of vice and sin, without ever meaning to?" It asked as it head cocked slowly. When Celestine looked up to it in surprise it looked back full of sadistic joy. "It has happened hasn't it? How many have fallen already? One? Two? Maybe even more?!" Its raucous laughter boomed out again, before it continued. "However many it has been, it's because of you... You planted the seeds of corruption in them. You fed those seeds and helped them grow, just by being near them! Oh what wonder you are, oh beautiful Fell Born!"
"STOP!" Celestine screamed as she nearly lost consciences again at its invading voice. But it seemed that it was done, and simply observed her as she knelt in front of him, body wracked with pain and gnawing doubts. "Please... stop..." was all she could manage... She felt ready to break. No... that was wrong. She already felt broken.
Fight! Her inner voice roared at her. Fight it! We can make it together!
"Perhaps you could. I would not put it past you..." Celestine felt its finger curl under her chin, and lift her gaze up to meet his. "Oh what will you become? Perhaps the righteous will find you first... and kill you. Or perhaps you won't survive the transformation, and become nothing but a cold corpse. Perhaps you will survive, and become dark and terrible, capable of slaying even me and all sin... Or Maybe... Just maybe... you'll become something glorious..."
Its words left Celestine numb and barely aware... she was only conscience because of what protection her other side afforded. Still, she didn't feel it withdraw from her... didn't see it step back, as it left burnt footprints in the stone in its wake.
"I can't wait to see..." It sounded finally, smiling widely...
Suddenly the world seem to speed up again, and the dreadful presence lifted off Celestine, making her breathe deep as she could, gasping for air like she had been underwater for impossibly long. Somewhere along the line she fell to the ground as she fought for air. But when a familiar voice filled her mind it was like someone throwing her a life line. ("Celestine? Celestine!?") It was Tristan's voice, half-rife with panic and concern, the rest confused and unsure... Still, it was enough, and for whatever reason she clung to it... She felt him rush to her and she instinctively grasped onto his leg, pulling herself behind him, almost hiding from the abomination that has assaulted her mind... She hid because she knew... she knew it was still here. It was hiding its dreadful presence, and its form was hidden behind a haze. But she could see it, standing there, looming like deaths' own shadow...
("Celestine? Celestine?!") Tristan tried using the mark as he approached her. She lay on the ground shuddering like a leaf and gasping for air desperately. Confusion and worry gripped Tristan, not something he was accustomed to, and not something he enjoyed at all. As soon as he reached her Celestine grabbed onto his leg for dear life and scurried behind him, half mad with fear as she hid behind him... And he had an idea as to why she was like this...
Looking up Tristan saw him... Vestiem the Sovereign, standing behind his shroud. A shroud that was not up a second ago, given the spazming and insane mortals he left in his wake as he soared above them to reach this place. It hid his titanic power, and obscured what he looked like behind a haze, showing only a dark outline with glowing red eyes. He did this as a courtesy most of the time as his presence was enough to drive most mortals mad in a moment without it... Hell, even the weakest of demons would lose their minds in his presence if he did not willingly shield them.
Seeing him, Tristan knew what had to be done... He and all those around him knew as well... He bowed his head to his Sovereign, out of respect and reverence. He and Navira were lucky... anyone who wasn't a Demonic Lord fell to their knees in supplication. All the while, Celestine cringed behind him and the question of if she had lost her mind to the Sovereign kept circling in his mind... A moment later, Tristan lifted his head and smiled to his lord, even though he wished he could tear out his throat. "Greetings your majesty. It is rare to see you amongst the people like this. To what do we owe the blessing?" All the while Tristan tried reaching Celestine with the mark, but no answer was forthcoming.
Rena piped in however, blessedly having the sense to use the mark. ("Master! Celestine, we have to help her! Please! Let me take her to-") But Tristan cut her off.
("We can't Rena. If we do, it will be disrespectful to him and potentially get us all killed. More than that... we can't show weakness... If we rush to aid her, we will only condemn her and ourselves.") Tristan's thoughts were angry and pained... He hated having to follow protocol like this, but if he didn't, he would get them all killed...
("I... I understand.") Rena managed, though her thoughts were full of rage and hate. She couldn't even look at the Sovereign right now...
The Sovereign's voice emanated from his lips in a long dead language, yet all those near him could hear the foreign words, could somehow hear his voice inside their minds, understanding every word. "I came to investigate that most precious jewel you have there Lord Durial...Indeed you have a mighty prize in your possession. Be sure not to lose it in the coming battle to Odeon. I must say I look forward to seeing your battle with him during the Clash. It should be... most entertaining. It has been some time since I've seen your prowess in combat. Something so few of my people have seen."
Tristan smiled again to his Sovereign. "You are too kind my lord. I only hope that the Clash between he and I does not bore you overly much. I would not even waste your time with it, if I did not need the court to show his humiliation to as many demons as possible." Tristan explained voice cordial and perfectly polite. Meanwhile he kept trying to reach Celestine, who seemed to be almost catatonic.
"Indeed. You mean to prove to anyone who would raise their hand against you, what will happen as a result of crossing you. As a fine example of our people, I hope you will continue to set the bar for the rest of our society to follow. You are indeed worthy of her, such a fine prize." He said glancing down to Celestine.
Tristan had to fight the urge to frown. Did he know? "My Lord... I am not sure what you mean. She is a beautiful mortal to be sure, and I do value her, but for you to praise her is perhaps too much..." Tristan tried to underplay her value... Already he could feel demons looking to Celestine with greedy eyes.
The Sovereign's laughter didn't help however... "I would have to disagree Lord Durial." He said loud enough for all in the chamber to hear. "I spoke with her just a moment ago, using my power to talk at length with her... From what I found, I would say that any and all demons should be envious of you. She is but a singular treasure that even I covet, above almost any other! I hope you recognize my kindness when I assure you, that I shall not attempt to snatch her from you." The Sovereign explained, wearing a great grin the whole time.
Tristan stood stunned for a moment, as if the Sovereign had just slapped him across the face, not that he would actually survive that really physically happening... He shook it off however and responded, bowing his head again. "My thanks Lord Vestiem; I shall always remember this grace you have given me..." Tristan righted himself. "With that in mind, I shall do everything within my power to see that she is not lost to me. Perhaps Odeon will serve a dual purpose... Punishing him should encourage others, and whatever master he serves, to leave her where she rightfully belongs... with me." Tristan said firmly, voice confident and strong.
"Perhaps... but I wonder Lord Durial... what would you do if I had sent Odeon? Perhaps he is under my employ, and it is I who sent him to spy on you and learn of your people?" The Sovereign asked, cocking his head curiously.
"I would congratulate you on your fine choice of targets my lord, and give my most humble thanks that you would think I would be worth your ire. If it is you my Lord, perhaps I could suggest a few demons who might fare better than Odeon? Though you would have to send them together... I assure you I won't go down easily."
"Unless it was between the legs of a fine woman, of course." Vestiem joked, before laughing with dark merriment. Tristan joined him, as did others, though Tristan only faked it... still trying to probe Celestine into response. "I make jest at your expense Lord Durial, you will of course forgive me." Vestiem said as he began to walk past Tristan and his crowd. However as he passed several meters behind Celestine and the others he paused and looked back to her and Tristan. "You need not fret Lord Durial... She'll be cognizant again soon enough... a few more minuets should do th-... what?"
The Sovereign looked on in awe and Tristan felt shifting against his legs. Looking down he saw Celestine pushing herself up on shaky feet... She almost fell but caught herself, without having to lean on him for support. Once upright she turned to the Sovereign and curtsied to him, while bowing her head.
"The most noble Sovereign is very generous in his praise, even for one so undeserving as I. My thanks oh Lord of Demons, Vestiem." Celestines said, her voice weak and shaking, but still clear enough to understand. Tristan looked on in awe... he knew that if Vestiem spoke with her, he would have used his powers to push everyone out of sync with the two of them... which would mean the shroud would have been down... Most mortals' hearts would have stopped in such a circumstance... Yet Celestine stood, bowing her head to him.
The Sovereign's laughter filled the chamber as everyone stared on in quiet. "You are even greater than my expectations! Marvelous!" Vestiem roared out, before turning away and continuing to leave them behind...
Celestine stood for another moment before her legs finally began to give out, but she found herself caught in his strong arms, holding her gently, but possessively. ("Indeed you are marvelous, my lovely Celestine...") Tristan sent to her before helping her right herself again. Rena took her and let Celestine lean on her for now. Tristan was about to order Rena to take Celestine to their chambers but a commotion drew his attention back to his Sovereign.
The Nephilim Elanace, had hurled off her cloak, and drawn her sword on Vestiem, swinging it down at his head with all her might as she cried out in righteous fury as she soared on her stretched out wings... Navira was shocked, stupefied into inaction by what Elanace had done. Alas for the rogue Nephilim, Vestiem seemed to catch the blade with perfect ease, twisting it and her before slamming Elanace to the ground hard enough to crack the stone. He kept her down by stomping his foot upon her back while holding the sword curiously... A moment later he held it before Elanace's eyes as he whispered something to her before he destroyed the blade, letting the ruined shards fall infront of her... Celestine saw the Nephilim's face, and saw the utter devastation written there. For whatever reason, it looked as if that blade was more valuable to her than her own life...
"Do not fret Navira." The Sovereign announced to the Demonic Duchess. "I shall not rob you of your pet. It is not your fault she struck, it is in her nature to attack one such as I, even with your superb training... But all this excitement has worked up my appetite and you will have to excuse me if I sate it."
Navira watched, unable to do anything to stop what happened next... She forced her feelings away from her face, unwilling to show anything to those who might use it against her. She watched, seemingly uncaring, as the Sovereign leaned down and used his teeth to peel the flesh from Elanace's wings, and consume it, before using the outer jaw to snap the bones free, and grind them up for all to hear and see...
Elanace was able to keep herself from screaming as the first of her wings was peeled and then consumed... but the second was too much. She screamed out for Navira to help her... begged with everything she had... All the while the Sovereign reveled in her pain and anguish, only to set it burning again as he consumed more of her flesh and bone... Just as the Sovereign was near the end of his meal, Elanace broke down and screamed out one last plea that became nothing more than a whimper after Vestiem ripped the bone clean from her shoulder blades. "Dominace! Brother.... please... help me..."
Celestine looked into Elanace's eyes as her plea went out, unanswered, and watched as the Nephilim blessedly lost consciousness... The sight was sickening, but she had no more to throw up... And even if she did, she couldn't. She couldn't make Tristan seem like he had weak servants. She continued to watch as Tristan went to Navira, who was tending for her broken pet as their Sovereign left them. Navira was hissing something to her demonic servants, who quickly wrapped Elanace up in her cloak and spirited her away. It was then that Tristan shared a few words with Navira, though they were too quiet to hear for Celestine.
"Rena." Celestine managed. "What...are they talking about?" She asked, knowing that Rena's hearing was much better than hers.
"Ah... It's nothing Celestine... don't worry about it." Rena responded, clearly feeling awkward about the question.
"He's comforting her... isn't he? Apologizing...because I drew the Sovereign here... and as a result he maimed that Nephilim..." Celestine said weakly, her heart twisted up because of reasons beyond her understanding.
"Uh... No! Nothing like that!" Rena tried.
Celestine smiled sadly. "You're a worse liar than I am Rena... But thank you for trying..."
"Dominace! Brother.... please... help me..." Elanace's voice invaded Dominace's dreams, as he saw what she saw, felt the agony she felt... He saw a beautiful red haired woman, held in the arms of a demon, as he felt Elanace's wings be stripped of flesh, bones broken, and then eaten...
"SISTER!" He roared out as he awoke from the hellish nightmare. A moment later he felt vertigo as he fell out of his narrow bed and landed hard on the ground. In a heartbeat he was up and looking for his sister in his small room. They had taken her months ago... He had assumed she was dead, just as their elder sister was... He had looked at first for her, tried to track down the demons that had taken her... But Elanace was the hunter, not him... He had no way of finding her... He had given up, and assumed she was dead... The others had found him, convinced him to continue hunting demons with them... convinced him the mission was more important...
