Feet First Ch. 04

"I'm sorry," I said, looking down at my shoes. "It didn't work. I couldn't make her..., I couldn't get her to..., you know.... Besides, the fucking app crashed after a few minutes anyway. The only thing I got was a bunch of panting."

One of the girls I didn't know slammed her palm on the counter.

"Shit!" she exclaimed violently.

Kim looked at me a while longer before breaking her gaze and slowly closing the laptop.

"Look," I said, addressing them all, but particularly looking at Kim. "I know you're all disappointed, but maybe it's for the best. You know, maybe it's time you all took matters into your own hands. She can only manipulate you if you let her. Besides, you'll feel better about it if you figure it out for yourselves."

There was an awkward silence, then Kim spoke up.

"Well, thanks for trying, Seth. I know it couldn't have been easy."

"Yeah, well, sorry again," I lamely responded, then turned and left the tri-delt house for good.
