"Does that mean the divorce is off?"

"I never said I would divorce you. I just said I would torment you."

Over their headsets they heard, "If you two have finished ironing out your marital problems, I would like to get up to Glens Falls, before daybreak."

Rita said, "Sorry boss, I'll give him head, while we were in the air."

"I thought you were going to torment him, not me?"

Paul replied, "I told you, boss; women have all the power, they just don't realize it."

"Paul, if she is going to give you head, why you are flying, please make sure we are on auto- cruise. I don't want this machine, jerking up and down. Air traffic control might understand what is going on, and laugh; or they may think it's a transponder problem."

"Roger, that sir."

"One more thing Paul, Land us next to the pad of her old house, not by the barn area."

Almost before the flight started, they were descending onto the property at Glens Falls. They left Patty strapped in the helicopter, while they set up the blankets and pillows for her to rest on. They took Patty out of the helicopter, and laid her down gently.

Stephano yelled to the four winds, "Laura, I have brought her to you, just as you asked. Do something, bring her back to me."

Stephano walked over to the helicopter to help Paul and Rita, unload the high-energy drinks, the plastic cloths to protect her clothes, and more clothes for her to change in, if she became messy. He also got diapers and other female items, just in case. Then he thought of something and told Paul what to do in the 10 minutes.

Paul said to him, "You have a diabolical mind."

"At this point, I will try anything to get her back."

Laura popped into his head and said, "Didn't I tell you to put a guilt trip on her? It's about time you listened to me."

"Laura," he yelled, "You told me to bring her here to you, and I have. Fix her and bring her back to me, dammit."

"I told you that you were bright boy, and for you to figure it out. Why don't you give it a try, and see what happens."

"Mom, are you sure you're not the leader of that heard of mules?"

"I would never argue with a statement like that, neither would William."

Stephano was sitting next to Patty, when Paul came running over to him. "Boss, William just called. They need the helicopter. They think it's still in Westchester. Jemma is bleeding, and they believe she is going to lose the baby, because of all the stress Patty has been putting on everyone. They want me to fly her down to Cornell Medical Center. What do I tell him?"

"Tell him no. I want the helicopter here, just in case something happens with Patty. I don't care what happens with Jemma, or his son. I want to take care of my Patty. Jemma can have another baby. She is still young. I only have one Patty. If she dies, I go with her, and you can take the helicopter to Westchester; but not one minute before. I like Jemma a lot, but nothing comes before Patty, not even her father."

No one looked at Patricia, they did not want to jinx what they hoped would happen as Paul, and Stephano continued to argue the merits of keeping the helicopter here as opposed to sending it back to Westchester. The screaming and yelling between the two men escalate. Paul told Stephano that Patty was as good as dead. The only thing that was working was her heart. If she could say anything at this moment; she would tell you to save Jemma and her baby.

Stephano screamed back at Paul, "Paul, your job is on very thin ice at this moment. I am telling you to back off. Patricia is my only concern. The world could end right now, and that helicopter is not going to move. If Jemma were carrying triplets, I would not care. I would feel bad for her, but I love my Patty, more than I love myself. I would not have done what we did tonight, and risk going to jail for any other person on this planet. The way you love Rita, I love Patty. That helicopter stays where it is, until she gets better or until we die."

A barely audible voice said, "Save my sister."

Stephano turned around slowly to make sure it was Patty, who was talking. His heart fell into those blue eyes, and his eyes started to tear. He kissed each one tenderly, and said, "I love you more than my own life, Patty. Welcome home. Would you like something to drink?"

"Yes, please, I am very thirsty."

Stephano popped open a can of the high-protein/high energy drink, and brought it to her lips. She was not thrilled with the taste, and told him so. He explained the necessity of the drink, and she proceeded to drink the full can, in short sips.

After thinking for a moment, she said, "Why isn't the helicopter on its way to Jemma?"

"There is nothing wrong with Jemma. Your mother and I had a conversation. She told me to put you on a guilt trip, and to do it here. I didn't understand it at the time, but when I got here, I put it all together. She said, 'Good Boy.' I think I will keep my mother, Patty. Your mother is too hard to deal with. Would you like another drink, you have to rehydrate yourself, because you have gone for over five weeks with only intravenous fluids. They were going to put a tube in your stomach this morning. That is why I took you from the hospital."

"Yes, please. Stephano, you do know removing a patient from a hospital, without permission, is a felony?"

"If you didn't come out of your coma today, Patty, I wasn't going to be around to worry about it. Your father agreed to sign a DNR for the next time you went into cardiac arrest. I didn't want you to die in a hospital. If you were going to die, I wanted it to be in a place where you were happy at one time. I brought you home. I'd like to call your father and tell him you are back with us. He has been so distraught over the thought of losing you, he has aged drastically. If you talk to him, hearing your voice may rejuvenate his body as well as his spirit."

At 4:27 AM, Williams' cell phone rang, and he immediately thought the worst. He picked up the phone, saw Stephano's name on his caller ID, and took a deep cleansing breathe, so he could keep himself together, for the news he was afraid to hear. Jemma put her head on his shoulder, to try and give him extra support.

"Hello Stephano; when did it happen? Was she peaceful?"

"It happened about 5 minutes ago dad, and no, it was not peaceful. I yelled for at least twenty minutes, before she finally gave in. Give me a minute; I am a little overwhelmed right now."

William replied, "I understand."

Stephano handed the phone to Patricia, "Hello papa, I am so sorry I scared all of you so terribly."

William yelled, "Patricia! Patricia, is it really you? How do you feel? Are you all right? Your speech is wonderful. I'm coming to the hospital right now. I'll be there in less than an hour."

"If you go to the hospital, dad, it will be a wasted trip. Stephano took me away from there, and brought me home. He was having more conversations with mom, than I have been. She gave him hints on how to get to come home. Then she let him figure it out by himself. He has decided to keep his mother, because my mom is too hard to deal with."

"I loved your mother with every ounce of my body, heart, and soul, but that woman could test the patience of God the Father, himself. She was an innocent; but she was obstinate as the day is long. She gave herself totally to me, and never asked for anything in return. There are very few women in this world like her, and Patty, you are one of them."

"You are wrong, dad. I do have a cruel bone in my body. I proved that to everyone at the party. I would have done to that man, exactly what I promised him, without a hint of remorse."

"Patricia, you have to come back to the hospital. Doctor Nall has to run tests on you, now that you are conscious. She is going to want to know what went right and what is going on in your head now. Please come back tonight."

"Can I sleep under the stars, with Stephano, tonight, and come back in the morning?"

"Okay, I will call the hospital, and tell them you are okay. You will be back in the early afternoon. Doctor Nall will go crazy when she sees you awake. Try to walk and let me know what happens."

"Stephano, my dad wants me to try to walk. Will you help me please?"

Stephano uncovered her, and carried her to an area that was clear of her blankets. He set her down, and let her get her balance. He held her by her right arm, as she began testing her legs.

He said, "Remember, even though you have been getting physical therapy, you have not walked in almost 6 weeks. Go slow, and don't expect too much of yourself."

She started out walking slowly, and felt a weakness in her left leg.

"Stephano, maybe you should change sides. My left leg seems to be weaker than my right."

"That's probably because the stroke you had was on your right side, Patty."

"When were you going to tell me I had a stroke, Steph?"

"Patricia, with all the things that has been going on with you, you will have to forgive us for not mentioning it. Let's tell your father what is going on, and then I will tell you what's happened in the last 5+ weeks."

"Papa, I have a little weakness in my left leg. That is the only thing I can feel right now."

"That's very good Patricia. I will only sue the government for $500 million on your behalf. Do you remember where your programs are? Do you remember the queues for your programs? If you find any more problems I will sue them for more than that amount."

"Yes dad, I remember everything. Have fun, I know how much you like to do this to people. Let me know what you need from me, and I will go along with it."

"Let me tell you one thing before I hang up. The man, who ordered the theft of your programs, and your murder, stepped in front of a bus a few weeks ago. He was killed instantly. His name was Richard Stengel. He was the head of the NSA. No one from that agency will ever bother you again. All six NSA agents are in custody; three have agreed to testify against the agency, and the other two will now agree to testify, because you are still alive."

"I am glad to hear that dad. That is one less thing I have to worry about. How about the man I was threatening to nail the stage?"

"Apparently, he had a change in heart. He looked at you, and saw his daughter's faces. He is in FBI Witness Protection Program and singing like a songbird. He is the reason the director killed himself. Richard Stengel told him directly to steal your property, and to kill you. Men were going to kill you, Patty, but that is over, and will never happen again."

"I am very happy to hear that dad. It is a very comforting feeling. I am tired, and I know this sounds funny coming from someone who has slept for five weeks, but I want to go back to sleep. I will see you tomorrow, at the hospital?"

"Yes Patricia, my little girl, go to sleep. We will talk more in the morning."

"Dad, let me speak to Jemma for a minute, please."

Jemma took the phone from her husband and said, "The next time I see you young woman, I am going to beat the crap out of you. I have not gotten laid in five weeks. That hasn't happened to me since I lost my virginity."

"Jemma, you are the reason I came back. Stephano told me the biggest lie he has ever told me. I don't know where I was, but all I heard was that you were in trouble, and he was not going to help you. You threatened me just now, so I am not going to tell you the story. You'll have to wait until I get back to the hospital. All you were concerned with was getting laid, and I was thinking that you were in trouble. Goodbye Jem."

Patty closed the phone and giggled. Stephano thought it was the sweetest sound he had ever heard.

"What did you do now, Patricia?"

"Nothing too terrible, Stephano; Jemma threatened me, so I only told her part of what you did to get me out with my coma. I left the story hanging, in midair, and hung up on her."

"I see you're coming back to your old self quickly. It's great to have you home, Patty."

"Lay down with me, Steph. Keep me warm and safe, until we have to go back to the hospital."

"It will be my pleasure, Patty. Sleep as long as you want; as long as you wake up, before noon. I don't want to have to find you again."

"I promise, Steph, I will never leave you like that again."

His body cuddled with hers like spoons. His hands rested on her stomach, and never strayed into the previously forbidden zones. Tonight was for love, safety, comfort, and warmth; not only for her, but for him as well.

The sun was high and bright the next morning, and Patty thought Stephano had developed a new way of waking her up in the morning. He was licking her face, and blowing air all over it. She could not remember his tongue being that wide or long, but he definitely needed a breath mint, because his breath was awful. Finally, she said, "Steph, stop that, and brush your teeth. I don't know what you ate last night, but you smell awful."

She opened her eyes and saw a huge pink tongue coming her way, with two huge nostrils above it. She screamed, "Help, I'm being attacked."

Her favorite mare, 'Timeless', did not back away from her. She just pushed Patty, until she turned over, and acknowledge her presence.

Brad came running over from the barn area to see why she was yelling. When he reached Patty, he was completely out of breath.

"Are you okay Patricia? I heard you scream, and I ran all the way."

"You ran 50 yards and this is what you look like? You need to get a membership at a gym, or you are going to die, before you reach 25."

"Those are big words coming from a woman who just took a five-week long nap."

"There were extenuating circumstances, for my nap, Brad. What is your excuse for being so out of shape?"

"You use different muscles, when you are in bed with a young woman. I have the stamina of the Titan in those positions."

"What happens when you have to walk to the bathroom?"

"That has always presented a problem. How are you feeling, Patty. Do you want me to take 'Timeless', and tie her up?"

"I am impressed, Brad, you even knew her name."

"It's on her bridle, I could hardly miss it."

"Is the barn done?"

"Yes, except for the solar panels you wanted to design for the roof. I also have the first draft of the house ready for your approval, when you are up to it."

"Gee whiz, Brad, I leave you alone for five weeks; your mother ties you to a desk, and look at everything you get done. Don't you find that amazing?"

"Don't start with me. I am at work, before the sun comes up, and I don't leave until after the sun is down. My mother looks over my shoulder, 100 times a day, and only growls at me when she does it. I am driving a Honda Civic now, and my Corvette sits in my grandmother's driveway getting dirty. I have not been on the date, since the day I left your motorhome, because I am so exhausted when I leave work I can barely stand. I am unhappy with you, extremely unhappy with you."

"Just think if you were a gigolo, Brad; with all those trips to the bathroom, in between your clients, you would be in the hospital within a week. They may have to amputate your legs, and where would you clients go from there?"

"I would think of something, short of amputation, Patricia. I work six days a week in the office, now. The Lord took the seventh day off, but not me. No, I on my seventh day, I am here taking care of the ranch. I make sure the grass is the way you want it to be. I check each of the horses, personally. Two of them don't like me at all. They see me coming, and they start moving to the furthest part of the ranch. When they get there, they wait for me. I think the smile, when I finally crawl up to them, and grab hold of their leads. Then I have to walk them all the way back here to feed them."

"Brad, did you ever think of riding one of them back, and holding the lead on the other one."

"Don't start with me, Patricia. Stephano is taking his shower and I could have my way with you."

"You would take advantage of a sick, defenseless woman?"

"Since it is you that has put this reign of terror around my neck, you bet your ass I would."

Patty looked at the mare and said, "'Timeless' Hop."

Brad was standing 4 feet from the mare, when she reared back on her hind legs to her full height, and jumped.

Brad was suitably impressed when the horse reared up, but when it hopped towards him, he lost his balance fell to the floor.

Patty asked Brad, "Do I still look defenseless to you?"

"You were the one that said you were defenseless, not me. I was the one that said I hated you, and I am sure of it."

Brad looked up to see Stephano, looking down at him.

"What did you do this time Brad. I keep telling you not to piss her off, and with these energy drinks she is gobbling down, heaven only knows how powerful she is."

"Is my year up yet? I can't wait to rid myself of you two."

Stephano helped him up and said, "I tried and tried to warn you not to take that bet. You told her that I was pussy whipped, which pissed her off. Then you asked for her recipe card, which really pissed her off. You don't take directions well, Brad. You take well-intentioned information and throw it out the window, because you think someone is trying to get the better of you. If you continue down this road, you are not going to have any friends or confidants in your life. If you get married, your wife will cheat on you, starting on your wedding night. She will know that you are a lying, cheating bastard, who will support her in the manner to which she wants to become accustomed. While you are out supporting her, she will be in bed with another man enjoying the fruits of your labor. Wise up Brad, and do what I did. Find a good woman who will help you grow up. It took me a long time to find her, and it took me even longer to find out she was there to help me, not to hurt me. I did some terrible things to her, but we are together now, and nothing will ever tear us apart again."

"I told you, she had you pussy whipped, Stephano."

Patty said, "Brad you are never going to learn. ' Timeless' Gather.'

The mare looked at Brad, went over to him, and pushed him with her nose. Brad backed up a few feet and the horse followed. As the horse closed in on him, Brad picked up speed to get away from her. When he started moving in the wrong direction, Timeless cut him off and led him towards the area the barn had been.

Brad kept yelling, "Call her off Patty, dammit, call her off."

When they reached the barn, 'Timeless' stopped and looked back at Patty. Patty told Stephano to yell for Brad to give 'Timeless' a bucket of oats, as a treat for a job well done.

Brad yelled back, "Like hell I will."

"Would you like to see her do it again, Brad?"

Defeated, Brad said, "No, I will get the oats."

Stephano asked Patty, if she wanted to take a shower here, or at the hospital.

"Steph, the hospital will be safer for me."

He called Paul, and told him to stop fucking around. It is time to leave.

He replied, "Boss, your timing is impeccable; it was her turn on top."

Rita screamed, "Shut up you moron; I am still on top the next time."

"Sorry about that boss, she is right."

"Get your asses down here now, and no speeding tickets this time, please."

***

Paul called the hospital when they were 10 minutes away to make sure the helipad was clear and to advise them Patricia Parent was returning. When he stopped the engines, there was a greeting committee there to meet them.

Before Stephano could unbuckle her seatbelt, William was kissing his daughter, and crying at the same time. "Thank you for coming back to us, Patricia. We all would have been lost without you."

"William get out of the way, other people want to smack her around, just to get even with her, and her antics." Jemma grabbed Patty and said, "I knew you would not leave this world a virgin; I just knew it."
