Chris watched as Catherine smile at Megan, getting splashed with the soapy water. The sweatshirt she was wearing, was soaked in a matter of a few seconds. She laughed with Megan, splashing back. When she had finished, Catherine washed her matching long black hair, her fragile frame, then dried her off and dressed her.
When she was dressed, she ran out and rose up her arms to Chris. He stared at her, then looked up at Catherine. She was frozen at the door with the towel hanging from her hands. Chris cautiously picked her up and held her on his chest. She squealed in delight and he managed a smile. She held his shirt in her tiny fists and smiled at him. He saw so much of Catherine in her face.
Then, the word came out of that small mouth and shocked them all but Megan who stared at him with a smile.
"Daddy!"
