Love Bites Ch. 10

A/N: Forewarning this is a short chapter, like possibly my shortest ever but with good reason.

Chapter 10: What Now?

I sat in my study content with my decision. They were ready; it was time for me and my angel to step down.

"What are you in here thinking so hard about darling?" she asked from the door way. Every time I looked at her was like the first time I set my eyes on her. Her fair hair and kind blue-gray eyes take my breath away every time. She was wearing a black tank top and a Jean skirt that accented her tiny waist perfectly.

"Do you believe I'm making the right decision dear one?" I asked as I pulled her down onto my lap

"They're more than ready darling it's been ages. Their mates are a bit young but little Aleca needs this. She needs to grow up you've been spoiling her as daddy's princesita for far too long."

I thought for a while on what she said. Aleca was always spoiled from the moment she was born. I was always hard on Sander never really allowing him to make a mistake. The twins were born in a time were a vampire Queen wasn't even plausible considering how little females are actually born into our race. I guess you can say that a never really expected Aleca to be anymore than my little girl whose big blue grey eyes always won me over just like her mother's. I let out a long sigh realizing that much of what's to happen is partially my fault.

"You're right dear one," I said with another sigh "shall we start the summons?"

"With pleasure my king" she said with that devious smile of hers

We all stared at Andrea open mouthed. I never knew her to be so strong willed with anything. The disappearance of my older sister will always be a sore spot for me but with my love I don't doubt that I will find her

"What do you mean by we need her?" My sister asked from the door way

"I mean that there are some things in play. Many different faucets of our destinies are being tampered with and I believe that Sandra is the key to choosing the right path. I don't understand how I know this. I just do." Andrea said losing her new found confidence with each word she said

"Don't worry sis there is nothing wrong with you. It's the gift of the youngest female. Since your lioness has awakened your powers are becoming stronger. Let your instincts guide you for now but we must get to mother you need training immediately." Her brother was hiding something from us. Over the past year Andre and I had become very close. He was one who joked and played around to cope with the large load set on his shoulders. We're one in the same I just was never allowed to be anything but serious as a child. As much as father loves all his children he was always hardest on me

"What are you hi-?" I started before a felt it. The summons.

"Brother, has father or mother died! What us going on why do I suddenly feel authority?" Aleca was frantic I was too, but father trained me my whole life for this moment. The summons was called for only two reasons; to mourn the end of the old monarchy and to celebrate the succession of a new ruler

"Calm down Aleca there is nothing to fear." I said as calmly as I could by the look on Andrea and Andre's face I could tell that they felt it too. I was worried about only two things; my parents and Aleca. Father promised Aleca long ago that she would never feel the authority. The authority is what the successor feels during a summons it's the transfer of bonds from the old monarchs to the new. Aleca was never to ascend to the throne she never got the training father never intended for her to be Queen. Something was amiss and it smelled like mother.
