Mystic Angels Ch. 06

"I'm so glad that you did, my love. Otherwise he would have..." Gio didn't finish what he was saying; he just pulled me back into his warm embrace. He sighed softly and changed the subject. "How did you learn to fully control your power?"

"After that day everything about my element just seemed to click. It was as if the voice made me finally understand it and I could call upon the water whenever I wanted to."

"Why did you lie to your family and say you fought one another?" Gio asked.

"I was scared that my dad would be angrier than he was when he found out Theron had just kissed me. If he knew he tried to force himself upon me, he would have killed him Gio, I couldn't risk that," I replied softly.

"You're probably right."

Later I was back in bed and I was wrapped up in Gio's arms. I sighed softly as I played with his hair. I was feeling safe and loved. As I contemplated the battle I knew was coming, I prayed I could defeat Theron once and for all.

As I started to fall asleep I heard a voice say as the wind slowly swept into my room, "You will, my child. Gio is the other half of who you are; you complete one another." I didn't know to whom the voice belonged but I understood what it was saying.

I knew as long as I had Gio to love me I could face anything—and I would face anything, anything at all, for the chance at having him forever.
