She scrutinized the huntresses' reactions. Their demeanor changed as though she had caught all of them.

"It was not safe for him to be here with us when we are so vulnerable," she explained. "I would not want him to rape one of us in the dead of night."

"What if it's not rape?"

Zyra turned to Henna with shock. She had spoken during her decree? Henna's bravery extinguished when she met Zyra's volatile gaze.

"What do you mean huntress Henna?"

Henna flinched as though Zyra had hit her when she spoke her name.

She gulped.

"What if...the ogre freely pleasures us? What if we wa..."

"Has he touched you Henna?"

Henna froze. "No. But I mean..."

"Then it's not a matter to be discussed. The ogre will not live among us from this day hence."

"On who's authority?"

Zyra's hair stood on end when she turned to face her sister.

"Chieftess," she said disdainfully.

Her sister was wearing a long white robe today. Green embroidered flowers curled around the sleeves. She appeared well rested, younger even. Beautiful as usual.

"I asked you a question huntress."

Kyzu had never made her call her Chieftess, nor had she regarded her as anything other than sister and my huntress. Her troupe watched on curiously, studying their sudden division.

"As the leader huntress of the Rovians and the keromedio. The witches of the valley put him in my protection. Furthermore since I brought him here and he is living off of us I should be responsible for making his indiscretions slight."

"But he had proven to be most useful," Kyzu totted as she stride forward. "And he has yet to put us at risk with his behavior."

"My Chieftess..."

"And you are not in the valley, are you my huntress?"

Zyra stared at Kyzu, rage and embarrassment warring inside her.

"No my huntress, but as a male who is against our creed..."

"No will suffice," she said scathingly.

She walked past her to stand in front of her troupe.

"Bringing the ogre here was a command of yours for helping Nima and I, but the ogre is not a nuisance. In fact he may have many uses. Henna, he has made impressive weaponry for you has he not?"

Henna's head shot up. "Um, yes my Chieftess."

"And he was about to physically defile one of us you say," Kyzu mused. "Why have they not come to me in complaint?"

Zyra knew Ginger would never complain.

"My Chieftess, please..."

"The ogre is male, but he is not a man," Kyzu said rounding behind her. "As a result we may use him as we see fit. Rair?"

"Yes Chieftess?" It was a huntress from her troupe.

"Alert the ogre that his banishment has been voided."

"Yes my Chieftess."

Then Kyzu turned to Zyra. Zyra didn't know what to say. She wanted to ask her why she was doing this to her, but she could not. She had never undermined Kyzu in front of the tribe, and she never would.

"My sister had no right to make such a decree." Her eyes were merciless and cold as she turned from her and left her with her huntresses. There was silence before Rair started to move.

"Rair," Zyra protested. She looked at her pleadingly. "Don't."

Rair glanced up at her, and then headed towards the forest. She stood paralyzed as all her huntresses left her, following Rair to where the ogre dwelled. Looking around she saw the villagers that had seen the display. They turned from her slowly resuming their tasks.

She stood alone, confused and disrespected.

Numbly she walked off to the stream and sat against a tree. She was too hurt to think much, she could only feel the desolation that build inside her. The day passed in a series of dull blinks and the night fell darkly upon her like a veil. She hadn't moved an inch. Her muscles were sore, she was cold. Yet, she could not bring herself to go back to her village. The village, it wasn't hers now. Not anymore. Why couldn't it be hers?

She heard him as he approached. She wasn't sure if it was intentional, or because she was so sensitive to the world around her.

"What are you doing?" he asked cautiously. "It's late."

"Don't bother me ogre," she mumbled.

He bent to her level and pushed the hair off her face. "What happened?"

She slapped his hand away. "Don't. Didn't you get the decree?"

"Yes," he replied rubbing his hand. "So your Chieftess sister overruled you?"

She didn't answer.

"There's no need to worry," he said sighing as he rose again. "My dwelling is finished, I only need supplies."

He combed a hand through his hair, the gaudy earring catching the moon light.

"I won't disobey you. It's strange they even allow me inside considering they don't allow men in their tribe."

Zyra stood up and out of a sudden impulse pushed him. He blinked owlishly, his mouth ajar in astonishment as she pushed him again.

"You're not a man!" she hissed. "You're not a man to them or me!"

He pushed her back, it was light but caused her to stumble backwards. How dare she? He had been comforting her, and she attacked him?

"And you're no woman," he spat. "You're just a brutish little girl playing in a woman's body."

"You take that back!" Zyra shrieked as she launched at him.

She attacked him with her fists how she wanted to attack Ginger or Kyzu, or Henna.

Without warning he grabbed her wrists and lifted her up, crushing her against a tree. He pressed his body against her, holding her hands above her head.

His eyes burned with furious lust. She could feel herself burning as well. Primitive, that's what their joining would be. Animalistic and primitive.

"I can make you a woman," he growled huskily. "I can make you a woman anytime you like. In any way you like..."

He put both her wrists in one hand and used the other to trail down her breast.

She jerked angrily. "Guh...Get off me!"

In response he lifted her higher until she was on the tips of her toes. His eyes bore down on her as he made her face him.

"Or you can keep being a child. You can walk around, act like you're tougher than everyone else, when you're frightened by your own womanly body and what it wants."

Zyra's body danced from side to side as it tried to balance. "I am not a child."

"Then prove it. You can't even stand being touched," he proved his point by stroking her thigh. She jerked away.

"And why?" he whispered. "Because the way if feels? Because you're not in control? Not everything is a fight Zyra. In some things control is meant to be given, it's meant to be shared."

Her body was going crazy from just hearing his voice. She did want him. Could she allow herself to recieve him if she was in control? Having control this time, not like when Rell became out of control. True control.

"Then...let me have control," she declared. "Give the control to me."

He paused, then released her and let her feet touch the ground, but he remained pressed against her.

"You want the power over this?"

"Yes."

He scoffed and pressed a hand between her legs.

His palm ground against her pussy and she cried out, struggling to pull him away from her throbbing clit.

"For what reason?" he asked, refusing to move as she moistened her undergarment in his hand. He was ready to fuck her. She was ready to fuck him. She was nothing but a noxious, tantalizing gold swirl. It took everything in him not to rip into her. He tried but he was losing patience, losing control over the beast within him. He wanted to rip off her clothes and force her to see things his way.

"What will you do with it?" he shouted. "Shut our feelings away, make us anxious until we're ready to burst? Pretend there's nothing between us— ."

"There is nothing between us," she gasped, using both her hands to arch away from him. "Not...like that."

He scoffed darkly. "Then why are you so angry?"

Her lips thinned in a line as tears welled up in her eyes.

Perhaps he was teasing her too much, or maybe she was right where he needed her. He needed her to fall off of her high unsteady pedestal, just enough so that he could build her back up again. He didn't intend to break her, but some part of him wanted to see her broken. For all the lies she had told, for all the insults and teasing he had endured. Some part wanted to break her.

"Because you lied to me," she whined pitifully.

"...and I...I almost trusted you. You're a liar and a deceiver in a pretty green package Kail Shashanen Shyla."

He was pushing her too far. Kail pulled his hand from her legs and took a step back. Immediately she crossed her arms, shielding herself from his intense desire.

"You're changing everything. You're ruining us! You've turned my sisters against me and made me look weak and unstable in front of my village! You violated my best friend when you promised to leave her alone!"

The tears were falling now, making her feel raw and weak. Kail sighed, hating to see her tears.

"I promised never to approach her and I kept that promise. Ginger approached me, and I would have never received her if you had not rejected me. I wanted to give her something to console my rejection."

She didn't react. She couldn't hear him where she was. He knew she was in a dark place, so when she continued to complain he allowed it.

"But worst of all..." she huffed, shakily sucking down a sob, "...you've made me the monster instead of you. They would accept you when I was born and raised there, when I gave everything just to make them proud. They don't trust me. Their sister! Not...anymore."

She bit her fist to keep from crying out, her spirit breaking with every reminder that she was alone.

"Zyra... I'm sorry."

He extended a hand to wipe away a tear and she threw herself back. Her red rimmed eyes glared at him hatefully.

"No! No. Don't touch me."

He raised his hands out peacefully as he tried to come closer to her. "Zyra let me help you. Let me give you the comfort that you need."

"No!" She shook her head stepping back to his advances yet again.

He took deep breaths to calm the frustrating anger that boiled inside of him.

"Zyra I know you're lonely, I know. I know I am partially to blame, but if you let me just touch you..."

She threw her arms away from herself and screamed at him, targeting him for all of her heartache.

"NO! You'll never touch me again! You're nothing more than a bunch of lies! Why do you even care? Go fuck Ginger if you want to fuck just leave me hell alone! I never want to hear your voice again!"

When she had finished screaming her throat was scratch and raw. She felt weak, like she might faint. Shadows seemed to have gathered in Kail's face, darkness covering his visage. But she didn't need to see his face to know how he was feeling. She had hurt him. Badly, maybe permanently this time. She was sure.

"...Fine."

It was barely audible, a sound so defeated she wondered if it had come from herself. He began to walk away, but then he halted, half in the moonlight, half in the dark.

"But Zyra..." he uttered.

"Don't think no one else knows of your weakness. Don't think for a moment that the people of this village aren't humoring you like a small stupid child. You blame me for everything that happened to you, but you're so faithfully blind that you can't see what's been building up for years. Your sister has always been jealous of you, and your huntresses have always been selfish. This was destined to happen, with or without me."

The last thing she remembered was his glowing yellow eyes that melded away into the darkness. She got to her tent, somehow. She lay down, hearing voices inside her head talking about her. Henna had called her unfit, Kyzu was elated at her dejection, Rair actually felt bad.

She begged sleep to claim her and take her away from the possibility.

It was a dangerous little notion that said maybe Kail, the ogre she lusted after, the monster and beast...

Was right.

Well this is sad.

I'm finding myself relating to Kail way too much right now. Except without the obligatory happy ending. Which is making me feel strange about this story. Despite that, it's very good.
