No! I thought. I had to do something. There was no time! I noticed a large oval shield on the saddle of Kahn's now dead horse. Then, almost faster than the human eye could follow, I ran the few steps to where Tiq-qah stood and grabbed her. I threw her to the ground next to the dead animal and dove next to her, grabbing the shield. Using the horse and shield, I covered us both the best I could just as the arrows began to rain down around us. I lay there in an attempt to cover Tiq-qah as well as I could using the horse, the shield and my own body. Another cry of anger came from those on the wall.

I heard a soft, muffled yelp of pain, followed by a low growl. Despite my best effort, one arrow was protruding from high on her left thigh. She was bleeding badly. The arrow had obviously torn through her artery. Without even thinking about it, I sought out the pressure point and clamped my hand on it.

Tiq-qah showed me that she had a warrior's sense of humor. Attempting to grin through her pain, she looked at me, winked and said. "As much as I would love the share the pleasures with thee...now might not be the best time, M'lord."

I looked down and saw my hand was only about an inch or so from the apex of her thighs. I grinned at her saying. Perhaps another time? Right now, I'm only trying to slow or stop the bleeding."

"Thou art a physician as well?"

"No, just something I learned back...in my homeland."

"Why not use a tourniquet?"

"If used improperly, you could be at risk of losing your leg. There is no such danger with this method. I ask you to trust me on this point."

"Aye, M'lord."

I peaked around the shield, wondering when the next volley of arrows would be coming. I could see no one but did see a couple of bows being drawn. Then, the entire embankment erupted in flames. Fire-shot had apparently been fired from Gateway to save me. It reminded me of napalm exploding a few dozen yards from me.

A loud cheer came from the wall and screams of panic fear and pain came from where the archers were. I jumped to my feet, threw Tiq-qah over my shoulder and ran, followed very closely by Kôjar toward the gate. Trying to keep Tiq-qah from bleeding out while carrying her and running was difficult in the extreme. But, I managed to do so.

About a hundred yards or so from the gate, we came to two hulking young men with a litter and my wife. I quickly and carefully laid Tiq-qah on the litter. Seq-qah was readying a tourniquet. "No!" I said a bit more gruffly than I intended to. "Not that. Give me your hand." I continued in a calmer voice. I showed her how to apply pressure on Tiq-qah's femoral artery. "This will ease the bleeding until the damage can be fixed up."

Seq-qah stared as the bleeding did in fact ease and then at me. "Husband! Is this a kind of magic from thy home wor...homeland?

"If it is, it's the kind anyone can easily learn."

Please explain, Master. I am shamed. She whispered inside my head, her face glowing in humiliation.

It was not my intent to embarrass you. I simply reacted as I have been trained on my world. I switched to normal speech. "Wife, the fault is mine. I was able to learn things in my homeland that you may not be familiar with."

As the litter-bearers started to move away, Tiq-qah reached out and grabbed my hand. "I thank thee for mine life, M'lord."

I shrugged and said. "You would have done the same in my position, Major."

"Nonetheless...." She said as they took her away for further treatment.

As I got to the gate, General Guerrae stormed up to me looking angry enough to chew nails. "The man needs to die!" He nearly shouted at me. The general then took a breath and then spoke in a softer, calmer voice. "There can be no excuse for this. To attack and attempt to kill you while under a flag of truce. Animal! Barbarian!" The last two words hissed through clenched teeth. Then he changed the subject. "Major Tiq-qah...was she hurt badly?"

"She'll recover." I assured him

Guerrae nodded. "Captain Kol-lah will have to fill in. She is competent. I have faith in her. How long will Tiq-qah be unable to fulfill her duties?"

"Ask my wife. She can give you a better answer than I can." I told him.

Seq-qah chose that moment to come to me. "Thou art uninjured, Husband?"

I grinned. "Not even a scratch!"

She went on. "Tiq-qah's injury is less serious than it seems. Her injury has been repaired for now. She should be back to full duty in less than two weeks." She looked at me. "If not for thee, she may have bled to death. She owes her life...and her leg to thee, Husband."

I nodded again. "Tonight, I will teach you about pressure points. Using those, you can save many limbs that might otherwise be lost." In some ways, medicine on Terrania was without equal. In others, it was barbaric...at best. I was somewhat dismayed at its shortcomings. Things like simple first aid I had once learned on Earth were all but unknown here. Something else I would have to change.

"Husband, you never cease to amaze me." She said, than switched to telepathic communication. Master, Thou art a healer? On Terrania, a healer was a few steps above a physician, possessing almost magical abilities.

No wife, I am not a healer. We will talk about this tonight.

She winked at me. Yes Master, if you're not too busy pleasing your women. She followed that with a soft giggle.

"Shall we have our noon meal, Wife?" I asked, heading to my quarters.

Lunch was finished and the remains were cleared away when one of my guards approached. "A Captain Kraygar and ten others are requesting to see you, M'lord."

I nodded. "Send them in. I've been expecting them." He turned and left. A moment afterward, he returned with Kraygar and the ten men he had selected.

"Men...come in and take a seat." I gestured to my too large dining room table. "Qij-ah!" I shouted. "Bring beverages for twelve!"

All sat and looked at me expectantly.

"Gentlemen...." I was tempted to add 'and I use that term loosely' but, didn't think they would understand Earth humor, so I refrained. "Before coming to Terrania, I was a member of an elite fighting force that specialized in guerrilla warfare. Your mission will be to observe, harass and in general frighten the hell out of your enemies. This is not like any fighting any of you have ever been involved with before. Many of you might even find this kind of war very distasteful or dishonorable. But...!" I looked each one in the eye. "It is necessary." They were still paying rapt attention to me. "We have a saying where I come from. 'It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.' And it is just that. Nothing more, nothing less."

Kraygar stood. "Will this be a cut, slash and run kind of warfare, M'lord?"

I kept the smile off my face as he unknowingly quoted Jim Bowie, who died on a far away world at a place called the Alamo long ago. "It will."

The captain continued. "While this would not be our first choice, we will do what ever is required of us, M'lord Dee-Ess." Our country...our way of life comes first. It shall be as you say!"

"If we can do this right, there will be another benefit from this. It will strike fear into our enemies. As you say, our country must come first. Actual training will begin tomorrow." I went into a lecture on guerrilla tactics, stealth and other things I planed on teaching them. Without giving away my origins, I described some of my Force Recon experiences.

At first, although they listened, I sensed dislike for my proposal. They all were taught to fight face to face, in the open. To them, there was no honor in this kind of fighting. I was however, fortunate to have a group of men who were at least willing to listen...consider other options. Though I had only been here a short time, I found myself agreeing with them on some level. But, I was here to save this world so...whatever it took to save it, I would do.

It was early evening before we called it a day. As the men left, Kraygar stopped and spoke. "Fear not, M'lord...They may not like it, but they will follow orders."

I sighed. "I cannot help but feel wrong about this. But...if we want to save Terrania, we must resort to this. Believe me, it will be necessary."

Kraygar saluted me and departed. I sat back down and quickly became lost in my own thoughts. Can I do this? Can I save an entire world? I mentally shrugged. I stood and headed to my private quarters. Not surprising, I found the evening meal ready and waiting for me.

"May I wish thee a good evening, Husband?" Seq-qah said as she approached and kissed me.

Qij-jah was there and spoke. "I too, would wish my master a good evening."

I was surprised to see Tiq-qah there as well. "M'lord."

Softly, I asked Seq-qah. "Why is she here?" Seq-qah grinned, but said nothing. "If you're thinking what I'm thinking...it's not going to happen. Not tonight, anyway."

As I expected, she pouted. "But Master...she owes thee her life. It is her wish to repay that debt."

"Not tonight!" I whispered harshly, but softly...another time, perhaps. She may remain and share our evening meal with us though."

"It shall be as thou wishes, Master." She said contritely. Qa-teela joined us and we all had a quiet friendly supper together. Afterward, Tiq-qah bid us a good night and departed, albeit somewhat reluctantly. Then, my three girls took me to bed and ravished me 'til the wee hours of the morning. They never seemed to tire of trying to find new ways to please me. I was exhausted....

Later, as the four of us were relaxing, Seq-qah spoke. "Master, I would beg a favor of thee." Hope and a bit of fear emanated from her as I saw her eyes turn a light grey.

"Yes Wife?"

"Thou art The One. Thou art a man of great importance on this world. Such an important man should consider how others might see him. Am I not right, Master?"

"I never really cared much about others thought of me when I was on Earth and still don't here, but I understand your concern, Seq-qah. What is the favor you would ask of me?"

"A man of your position should have no less than three wives. Thou art, Master among the most important people on Terrania. And...while I can understand that thou dost not care about what others may of thee. There are other things to consider. I speak only out of love for thee, Master. I beg thee to consider taking another soon...perhaps Qij-jah?"

Qij-jah, who been lying next to me sat bolt upright gaping at Seq-qah. "I am not sure that I am worthy of that, Mistress. I am happily a slave to our master. I need no more than that...really."

I gazed at her. "And what of your personal desires? Do you think that they are of no importance to me? Do you think I don't know that every Qoo-jan slave secretly wishes for it?"

"Master, it is forbidden for me to...."

"Be silent!" I interrupted her, and then turned to Seq-qah. "Arrange it. Make it happen as soon as possible."

Seq-qah smiled brightly. "It shalt be as thou wishes, Master."

Qij-jah threw her arms around my neck. "Oh Master! Thou art truly a great man. The honor thou giveth me is beyond measure. I love thee more than I can say!"

"So you keep telling me." I joked.

"I have long wished for this...even long before thou did come to my world. It has always been forbidden for a slave girl to speak of such things. I, like every other slave have always secretly desired to be life-joined to our masters." She was bubbling with happiness. She whispered to herself. "Me...second wife to Master Dee-Ess." She shivered joyfully.

During this entire conversation, Qa-teela watched in silence. She finally spoke. "Master, thou art indeed the kindest man I have ever known."

"Perhaps, once I get to know you better, you can be number three?" I asked her jokingly.

Her eyes went wide. "Master...I...." I waved her silent.

"No matter what I should decide to do...it shall be as I say, right?"

"Yes, Master." She said, smiling softly.

The three girls enveloped me in a group hug and then, we all settled in to sleep.

*********************

We woke in the morning and slipped easily into our usual routine, Qij-jah and Qa-teela bathed me while Seq-qah shaved me and shampooed my hair. Next came breakfast and then we began our day in earnest. As I sat to take care of some much needed, but equally hated paperwork, I saw Zeq-qoh, looking a little rough around the edges as we used to say on Earth. "Zeq-qoh, are you alright?"

"A little tired, but fit to continue my duties, M'lord."

I took a wild guess. "Suulee wearing you out, is she?"

A flushing glow colored his cheeks. I was right. "Ummm...." He started.

"Maybe I should have asked if you are enjoying your time with her, maybe?"

He smiled. "I would be lying if I said I didn't, M'lord." He started to speak again, but I waved him silent.

"Just don't break her heart." I joked, smiling.

"No, M'lord." He returned my smile. He was getting over the loss he felt from Lol-lah's death...almost back his normal self. I was pleased.

For the next hour, I looked over intelligence reports on Kahn's army, from several sources...not including the Silent Service, whose existence was a closely guarded secret. The reports I went over did little more than confirm the intel from the Service, but that confirmation was helpful. After a while, I stood to stretch my legs, when one of my guards announced the arrival of Tiq-qah for an 'official' visit. I told the guard to show her in, inwardly grateful to escape the paperwork.

Tiq-qah approached me on a set of crutches. She stepped right up to me. Next, she smiled sweetly, reached up, putting her arms around my neck and kissed me softly. "M'lord, again I feel obligated to thank thee." She blushed a little. "I ask thy pardon for my presumptuousness...the kiss."

"I did nothing more than to protect a valuable warrior, as anyone would have done. As for the kiss? I should be used to strange women kissing me by now, don't you think?" I said grinning.

I was not surprised when she kissed me again. "Thy wife must have been jesting with me then."

"Well, yes and no." I remarked. "It would be too complicated to explain right now."

"As thou sayest, M'lord." She smiled. "I owe thee a debt that cannot easily be repaid. If there is ever, anything I may do for thee, thou hast only to ask." After having been on Terrania for a while now, I knew exactly what she was offering. At times, it seemed as if Seq-qah and my other women were not the only ones with a one-track mind when it came to sex. "Anything at all." She said as she 'accidentally' brushed a finger over the front of my trousers.

"Captain Kol-lah will temporarily assume my duties. She is a capable warrior and can be trusted, fully." She paused. "M'lord, while I am recovering from my injury, I would like to observe thy training with Captain Kraygar and his men."

"And why would you want to do that?"

"Kraygar told me what thou hast in mind and I find it interesting."

After a moment of thought, I said. "Permission granted. It is a type of warfare not seen around here before. New and challenging. Many, yourself included may not like it."

"If thou wilt lead, I shall follow thee. No matter where, no matter how. I owe thee mine life...I am thine to command, M'lord...always." Her eyes revealed her infatuation with me. I sighed inwardly. I had a feeling that I would have to fuck this woman some day...but not today. I was slowly getting used to the idea of have many different women in my bed for some time to come, but no need to go too fast, eh?

We spent a few more moments discussing her new training schedule before she departed...but not before she 'thanked' me again with yet another kiss. She gave me a knowing smile. "One day, M'lord...I shall repay my debt to thee."

"One day...." I returned her smile, as she left.

*********************

Over the next few weeks, my mornings were spent training Kraygar and the ten men he had selected; my afternoons were spent observing those men pass the training to the others in their group. Tiq-qah trained with them. She was healing quickly and was proving herself to be an excellent warrior...very well suited for guerrilla warfare. Fast, agile and tireless...she was also very devious. I was quite impressed with her

I also taught Seq-qah all I knew about first aid. Some of it, she already knew, being a physician on this world. Still other things surprised her. The idea of CPR and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation fascinated her. I told her to pass it along to the others. In battle, Qij-jah and Qa-teela would remain close to Seq-qah and act as physician's helpers.

After a few days, Qij-jah and I went to the Temple of Kriegor for our life-joining ceremony. As before with Seq-qah, we removed all of clothing before entering. Unlike the previous occasion, the statue of Kriegor did not come to life and bless our union, but I could feel her approval wash over me. Also, unsurprising to me, Seq-qah was absolutely thrilled. "I am so very proud of thee, Husband. Now, I need to seek yet another."

"Whoa...slow down there, girl." I said to her. "You and Qij-jah are sufficient for now. I can wait a while before taking on a third wife."

Seq-qah smiled in a way that did not reassure me. "It shall be as thou wishes, Master."

Most of that evening was spent making love with Qij-jah. As was the custom, with this being the first night as my new wife, she would be alone with me. At sometime near mid-night, Qij-jah fell asleep with as content a smile as I have ever seen on her face. I, not being tired yet, decided to take a short walk around my rooms at Gateway. I had not yet seen everything.

I went to the kitchen and found a pot of coffee ready. I quietly thanked the Olygard for bringing that 'magic elixir' to Terrania. I savored the hot brew as I sipped it. Afterward, I continued my impromptu tour. As I passed the slave quarters, I heard odd noises, opened the door slowly and looked within.

There, on a large round bed was Seq-qah, Qa-teela and Suulee in a tangled of arms and legs. They seemed intent on making one another come over and over again. Seq-qah was enthusiastically lapping Seelee's pussy while Qa-teela held her from behind and pinched and twisted her nipples. I could plainly hear her muffled squeals of pleasure as Qa-teela covered her mouth in a passionate kiss. I could see Seq-qah's fingers buried in her own cleft pumping madly and moaning between Suulee's thighs. The three of them showed no signs of slowing down. After a while, I backed out as silently as I could, grinning. I did not want to disturb them.

*********************

One quiet morning about a cyclo (Terranian month) after my arrival at Gateway, I decided to contact my 'spy' see if there was more to learn. I concentrated. Noj-jah?

Nothing.

Noj-jah?

Then, she answered. I am here, Master. Something was wrong. I sensed a great deal of discomfort from her...even some pain.

What happened Noj-jah? Are you hurt?

It is of no consequence, Master. I will recover.

Tell me what happened! I demanded.

I was beaten, Master. I think that Kahn is, to use Earth reasoning, quite insane. I remembered that Noj-jah was Olygard before somehow being changed or converted into a Qoo-jan and knew more about my past than any other...my wives included.

What has been done to you? I asked, seething.

I told you. She sounded a little annoyed. I knew the risks when I came. Master. I did provoke him a little.

Provoke him?

Yes, Master. He was becoming fonder of me than I was comfortable with. So occasionally, I would do something that angers him. He must see me only as a slave...do you understand? A joke formed in my mind, but died on my lips. She was genuinely concerned that Kahn might want to life-join with her. Do not forget, Master...I am devoted only to thee...only to thee.
