Pick the Nits Before You SubmitbyWhiteWave48©
If you are a born and bred nit-picker, it's a good idea to submit via the cut and paste method using the text box where you can opt for making changes until you're satisfied. With your story in review you can re-edit your personal draft then delete the text in the box and substitute the newer version. This way you maintain control of updates in both places.
When you see that blue word 'pending' on your View Submissions page, your submission is in the line-up to be assessed by the editors so no further changes to the original can be made online. Instead you can submit an edit using the Story Submission page. FAQ is worth a visit to clarify this feature.
Even after the story has been posted you may submit an edit, so it's never too late to deal with a nit that's robbing you of sleep. Just re-submit the corrected text with accompanying story information, and type 'SUBMIT EDIT' at the beginning of the story title box. A 'SUBMIT EDIT' word of explanation in the notes box is a good idea too.
Once your story has been accepted, it's on the way to the New Stories list. The time has come to leave it alone. By now your work is so well crafted your readers will love it.
