Prolog:
For some time, the human population experts had noted a rapid rise in overall fertility rates over a 60 year period, followed by a drastic drop. The death rates in the general population had also climbed. Within about 30 years, the death rates had started to drop again and the birth rate had started to climb again. It would remain one of those unexplainable anomalies during this period of earth history. It was an unexplained blip in the birth / death cycle of life.
