"Yes, it concerns me too," McKinsey says with a troubled voice.

"It's preposterous that this has been allowed to happen!" Petroff bursts out.

"Unfortunately my hands are tied in the matter, Andy," McKinsey replies ignoring the outburst. He understood both men's feelings in the matter. It was an issue that kept him up at night since talk began with performing an investigation.

"Isn't there something we can do?" Rylings asks.

"As you know, I've been asked not to interfere. I called in what favors I could, but I'm sure after last night, my actions are being watched."

"But that doesn't stop us," Petroff says almost in a whisper.

"I can't ask you to do anything," McKinsey warns.

"No sir you can but you won't. Besides what you are not aware of, you cannot be a part of," Rylings suggests.

"I guess we are through with this meeting then gentlemen," McKinsey says with a grin.

——

Marsha Golding, current Attorney General, is leaving her office slightly before four in the afternoon. It has been a stressful day, but she made it through it and will just be happy to get home and relax.

She thought about calling her driver to take her home but decided if she drove it would more therapeutic. Besides if she got a craving for some ice cream later, she'd have to wait for her driver. It was better just to cut out the middle man.

——

Golding doesn't live far from her office, so the drive does end up being a bit relaxing. She decides to stop off at the store for a gallon of ice cream instead of waiting and putting off the inevitable.

She arrives at her home shortly after the sun has set. "Thank God it's still light outside," she says to herself as she pulls into the drive. Her house is in the quiet subdivision of Rockville, a place rich in history.

Fumbling with her keys, they finally slip into the door. She slips inside, locking the door behind her and almost immediately has the feeling of dread settle over her. "Who's here?" she asks out loud. She tries hard to keep the fear from her voice. "Is it you Robert?" she calls out once more. Her heart begins beating hard within her chest. She dreads it being Robert.

Why can't he just leave me alone?

The answer comes in a swift thrust. Golding drops her ice cream and let out a soft whimper. Looking down she sees the tip of a sword sticking out of her stomach. She tries to speak but only unintelligible words come out. The fear and shock grip her so tightly; her words are unable to form in her mouth.

The assassin Tsyr Ker moves in closer to whisper into Golding's ear. "Yours is a sweet death." The sword comes free from Golding's body and she crumples to the floor.

It is a Friday and with no family living near, it will be a long weekend before anyone will find her.

Such pleasure.

Tsyr Ker smiles at the thought.
