"Good." He kissed me softly. "You wore me out, Kelly. I need to get some sleep so I can be up bright and early to get home. I'll have to leave by seven."
"Okay." That was too early; I wanted to be with him longer. But I could tell how important his children and grandchildren were to him. "Should we set the alarm?"
"Good thinking."
I got out of bed and set the alarm on the stand beside Charles for six o'clock, then went back to his arms. With my head on his chest, we held each other as we slid into sleep.
