As a Mechanic I hated paperwork. Greasy hands and paper didn't mix. However I finally retired. Family told me to get a computer but I balked at this as I had problems using a bank machine.
The computer came and when I was 68 years old I wanted to write so bad that I practiced all the time.
Now at 73 years old I have self published two books.
Literotica gave me some good pointers about writing. My family doesn't know this and I am sure I would be condemed. I like dogs, taking pictures and woodworking. My wife and I lived on a mountain in my hunting cabin for three winters. It was beautiful with no hydro or telephone. We kept in touch with the world with a cb radio. We used solar panels to give us the lights and basic needs. We had to leave the cabin because of our ages and health. I miss this now
