I think I write out of my own loneliness. It seems to be a recurring theme of my stories. I can't help creating female characters that I fall in love with. Often, they're modeled on women I have known, but are greatly idealized versions. Oh, well. Fantasy can be a good thing. Keeps me out of real trouble.
