I had not written much in many years. The occasional short poem, put away and forgotten about. I had some friends who remembered the stories I could tell and one in particular who pushed me to reopen this window on my soul. I started writing down a few things, most of which are forgotten on a bookcase or tucked in a desk. For some reason, the piece that did not get tucked away became "A Pleasant Surprise". Now I am writing regularly and enjoying once again one of the things that used to bring me joy. I hope that joy is shared by any of you who read what I have allowed to escape.
