I consider good sex an art form, and enjoy the challenge of getting inside my partner or reader's head. Perhaps tha's the appeal of writing erotica. I write not only what turns me on, but try to consider how someone wlse will experience my offering. And just because it's erotica, that doesn't excuse poor writing or editing, for Peter's sake!
