Once and far way      in time       and place
one transported herself to a land of wonderment
      Small smiles, little sighs,
these were the things that made her happy
Who knew that the calm surface hid
swirling and mesmerizing thoughts,
words and feelings,

Look upward , and see that leaf
at the top of the tree ,
at the top of the hill,
at the top of the range

Waving and flagrantly denying the world
Take what is hers, maybe?
Give what is hers to give,      certainly
ask for little in return, if at all,      definitely

rivers run their course,
                        some meander,
some are a straight way
all tumble
those who cannot
stand the depth of her heart
few can and none have
Yet        withstood
Or then again, maybe some did

a little dove landed and coo'ed
that trill of tones
spoke so much
in  dulcet melody

Smiles creased the weathered visage
as the Rains finally poured
washing away the grime,
the sludge of daily rote,
that sloughing away;

she stood taller somehow and rose again
      beautiful and resplendent
             Smiling
