Dappled shades of
gloaming light
Shine down on
my countenance
My heart walks beside me,
and I see
the cadence of its beat
Abandoning me at the first turn
Down verdant lanes
of burnt leaves
crunching underfoot

Wild thoughts
disturb the balance
Animal glances
steal forth
My love is pulled asunder
Fed to
the slithering creatures
that slowly
creep into your mind

And by the still waters
of a babbling brook
The listening fish dart
as minnowing feelings
Lending credence
to My heart as it follows
the formless shapes
sliding through
dank trees and brush
