Don't ask her how she is
Don't tell her how she should be
Don't tell her it is ok
Don't tell her time will heal all
Don't tell her it gets better day by day
Don't tell her the pain will ease
Don't tell her not to cry
Don't ask her what is wrong
Don't tell her You love her
The tears will dry
The heart will heal
The love will die
The spirit will fade
Things will change
They always do
A slave loves
A slave feels
A slave learns
she isn't blind
she isn't dumb
she isn't cruel
You want to help her
You want to help her
Then don't
Don't ask
Don't say
Don't do
Don't tell
most of all just
DON'T

I thank you Maria and Anonymous for your thoughts. I can see where Maria is coming from with the grade school issue. When I write I can not say the reason behind why i wrote what I did. But at the time that I wrote this picture this. My Master went away with another woman. Comes back and says I am leaving for good sorry to all didn't tell me Himself I had to read about it in a post. Once it got out I kept hearing the "it will be ok" etc. So in essence that one was written out of pure anger and desparation. I do see now where I could have said the same thing without the don'ts in every line. but at the time god they were needed lol. Thank you Maria. I will try rewriting it and submit and edited version that hopefully most won't hate .
Thanks Anonymous I love encouragement to do more.

IT does have poet-tential :) while this style may work for you, some spacing between the thoughts and deletion of a few, okay, *most* of the don'ts would make it a better read. you can feed your readers your pain without treating them like they are second graders with a grocery list, and this is meant in the kindest of ways...maria
Don't write another list poem.
Don't even bother to think about it.
Just . . .DON"T!
