Christmas again
times two
tree garland, tinsel
on the floor
nothing to stop us
but a plate-licking dog
and some candles
burned too low.
A fireplace would be nice, I tell you.
Someday,
your standard reply.
And I cry - but not
from sadness.
Now, only from joy.
