If I were there, I'd never say any of this.
if I were there right now, I'd almost
certainly forget to talk to you at all,
too busy fighting against impulses I'm
not *supposed* to indulge.
Restraint and discipline I'm supposed
(or not supposed)
to show in service
of propriety and duty and the crushing weight
of not having
what I fucking want
of not getting down to
the fucking I want.

But because I'm not right there
on the edge of unleashing the beast
and running wild with you
I can think again,
of silvered screams and honey-sweet
fear
of shame and desire dancing
an enraptured duet,
spinning you outside the bounds
of iron will and need to know
and toward the warm musk
of soft skin and the lingering
glow which follows finding someone
to tame your secrets
by setting them free.

And because it would be wrong
not to mention it
wouldn't be nice,
I'll not exploit your need
to expose the image
of my skin under satin laces
under you
until a time when we can't
breathe. So instead I
explore the questions of
what I want, and where I'd take you
and whisper in your ear this
web of words, the warm sticky
threads of a wayward
scorpion's embrace.

What they said. ;) They're much better at this than I.

Oh Risia!

This is a ride in a Rolls. The flow is impeccable, and it is so smoothly detailed yet taut. You balance an exquisite tension of restraint with jumping-out-of-its-skin power. Baby, I don't know what it is about your poetry, but it does it for me every time. :)

Lovely to see a new one from you. xx Ange

now, this is what I'm talking about. The prodigal poet, Risia, graces us with her presence and shows us how a poem is supposed to be done. Most people who live this feeling make a rant and throw it into some sort of "poetic" form<meaning fragments of thought in various line length and verses> without imagery or really poetry even. She, however does this thing up right. If you have something to talk about to someone else, this is the way you turn it into a poem. Listen up, poets, these are pearls I'm givin' ya, peaaaaaarls!5
