A sea of gray...
the once blooming fields -
  a profusion of blues,
  yellows, brightest reds
  atop a glen green carpet
  of finest strands -
now buried
and gone
returned to the dust
from where they were lovingly sown
nurtured
tendered care and dreams and hopes.

It was more
then they were just forgotten
lost amidst the strands of another time,
another place - an era now gone
from sight that will arise again
and again
somewhere
somewhen
if but from memories
hidden and dormant
awaiting rebirth
as life remembers -
remembers its peaks
and places
and longings
for more than it is now.

It was more that they never were
or are
or could be...
evermore,
for there is no life
to remember
that there was.
