sitting on her suitcase by the side of the highway
she crosses one long leg over the other
letting her beat up sandal drip from her tiny foot
she takes a long drag from her cigarette
and lets the smoke pour lazily from her mouth
as the cars speed by she waits patiently
for a ride or absolution
whichever gets there faster

Hi

As I was reading this, I was anxious for it to have an ending that would leave me satisfied. I could just feel this poem building to a substantial ending, and it wasn't a let down.
