THE PLANK OF WISDOM

intellectualism
isn't any good
when common sense
should have come into play.
this gap in relation
to the process of thought
can sometimes be tough
for the thinker
in regards too spontaneous
lines of conversation
spoken without realizing
the potential for disaster.
sometimes the whole picture
isn’t realized until
it is taken out of context
leaves you dumbfounded
for not seeing the consequences
until it is too late.
being brilliant is wonderful,
but there is a price.
and when words
aren’t thought through
the vibrations can get nasty
and knock one off its perch
when a sense of balance
on the seesaw throws you off
to make yourself a little smarter
the next time around.
