Words have died upon my lips
Before they had the opportunity to breathe
And soar toward freedom
Half-formed utterances
Deformed syllables
Gasping for air, grasping for consciousness
As they tumble forth to form nothing more than sighs

Words have died at the tip of my pen
Between brain and hand they have lost their way
Poised above the page, trembling
Unable to form the swirls and loops
Which will create new worlds and
Happily ever afters
