I know
I should leave off
thumbing through the pages
of my past.
Reliving old pains
does nothing to honor them.
It only sharpens the spear
thrust in your side.
Far better
to focus
on things you can change.
Leave yesterday
to pillow crying,
live today
and prepare tomorrow.
So that the next time
I get stuck in my history
the lessons
are less painful.

Who gave you ...

... the keys to my head? You're inside, kicking around in dark corners, stirring up dust. Very nice work, Bel. ~Imp
