Yellow Flowers
A yellow flower waved in the air,
To a patch of peers that were clustered nearby.
It moved and they moved back,
And the ensuing symbolic conversation
Appeared to be enjoyable to all concerned
As they continually nodded in agreement
Through the day
There were occasional objections to be seen,
But all seemed compromised toward the day’s end.
Yet when the first light of morning came
The yellow flowers had been crying
