Click hereDear friend, I have to let you go.
A blank page landed in my lap,
that will be my history
from here and ever.
Because today,
heaven called for trumpets,
parted the clouds and sang
for me this time.
When two word set
a ripple ring in motion.
Spreading through my fragile,
my disease,
washing years of gathered dust
away.
And a speechless nod,
that never even reached
further than my spine,
bounced back,
like he always makes me do,
let me detect my reaction
in the way his blue stars shine.
I did again this time,
and slowly realised,
two words too large to type
had breathed the air more true,
had given the world a more saturated hue
than eyes can bear, but souls can feel
sometimes, when ripple rings brush by
a little bit too real.
So this is a goodbye,
our journey ends upon this shore.
This last moment side by side
we stand, but I will write no more,
I will not hide,
but chase a growing ripple
on this once tranquil sea
until it reaches my horizon,
then beyond, and into me.
How wonderful to see you writing again, Randi! The last stanza of this is perfect- a sentimental poem with being cloying.
Your poem was mentioned on the thread

thanks for the journey
